Some prayers seem to end in silence: James is executed, while Peter is rescued from a heavily guarded prison as the church prays. Their different outcomes do not reflect different levels of faith; God had different futures for two faithful men. The reason for James's early death remains unknown. Yet God chooses to heal, protect and save in response to prayer, so disappointment should not silence prayer.
