Some Christians insisted that non-Jewish believers must be circumcised and keep Moses' law to be saved. The Jerusalem meeting settles the issue. Jews and non-Jews are saved through the grace of Jesus by faith, not law-keeping. God had already given both groups the Holy Spirit, while the prophets showed that non-Jews had always been included in His plan.
