James is writing this letter to an assembly of Jews who according to Chapter 1 were scattered out of Jerusalem by the persecutions of Acts 7 and 8. James is writing to Believers who were under tremendous stress and he is encouraging them to live out their faith in spite of trials and difficulties. James completes his epistle by giving directions concerning prayer and confession. He reminds us that God is at work in our prayers to bring about His will.
