The Clear Path to Republican Victory

from Political Contessa · host Jennifer Nassour

Today, the front runners for the Democratic and Republican parties are old men—old. One is 77, and the other is 80. One has been in office for over 40 years and can no longer conjugate a sentence, and the other, who has over 91 indictments against him, is in court every other day. I don’t see either doing anything for democracy or our country. As a mother, this makes me concerned about the kind of country my children—and all the children of the next generation—will grow up in. So, as I wrote in my recent op-ed piece in the Boston Globe, I believe that the GOP should dump Trump and rally around Nikki Haley.   In this episode, I share my recent op-ed piece in the Boston Globe, where I argue that the GOP should dump Trump and nominate Nikki Haley. I speculate on the future of the Republican Party and explain how Nikki Haley is the best, principled conservative candidate with executive, legislative, and international experience. I discuss how Nikki Haley could appeal to a broader range of voters and potentially rebuild respect for Republican principles. I also emphasize the importance of nominating a leader who can build majorities, control spending, and give Americans hope for the future.   “There is one clear path to victory for Republicans: a principled conservative willing to take on the powerful and stand up for working families in America.” - Jennifer Nassour   This week on Political Contessa:   Ronald Reagan's principled leadership as a reference point for the GOP's success Concerns about Trump’s age and legal issues Nikki Haley as an alternative to Trump Trump's limitations in a head-to-head matchup with Biden How Trump’s endorsements did not guarantee Republican victories in the 2022 midterm elections The GOP’s current priorities and internal disagreements The need for a cohesive message to attract voters Potential consequences if the GOP fails to present a strong alternative to the Democrats How Nikki Haley could rebuild respect for Republican principles   Related Content:   GOP should dump Trump and rally around Nikki Haley | The Boston Globe op-ed by Jennifer Nassour   Awaken Your Inner Political Contessa   Thanks for tuning into this week’s episode of Political Contessa.
