In 1942, 29 Navajo men were recruited to join the Marines during WWII. Their mission: to create an unbreakable code using their native language. It was no small task. With their code, they could keep military plans hidden and help the US win the war. They put their lives on the line with every message, knowing they would be an enemy target.
