The Cold Case Melissa Saved From the Trash

Decades after an abusive ex-boyfriend named William "Bosow" Lyles Jr. murdered a family member named Melvin in a turbulent Michigan town, the local police department suffered catastrophic record losses due to bankruptcy and severe weather. Despite the disappearance of the official murder book, victim Melissa Coons refused to let the cold case vanish into obscurity. Driven by her mother's tragic passing and her own relentless research, Melissa partnered with veteran Detective Paul Thomas to rebuild the lost file from scratch. By securing a surviving arrest warrant and an autopsy report, the dynamic duo tracked down the aging fugitive hiding in plain sight. Ultimately, Melissa's steadfast determination and crucial teamwork brought the killer to justice nearly thirty years later in a Michigan courtroom.
