The apostle Paul's letters to the Thessalonians assumes a "gospel-centered" orientation, on the basis of what God has already done in Christ and what He will yet do in Christ. Whether it’s on work, grief, sexual purity or hope, Paul talked of each of these things in the light of the gospel. As we read & meditate on these today from the perspective of our identity as Christians and as members of our local church, may it also remind us how the gospel should also shape all of our lives-- ours, our families', and our church's, as we share it and embody it in faith, love, and resurrection hope. == Title: The Coming of the Lord (sermon given in Taglish) Text: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 Preacher: Ptr. Waypoint Christian Church Clovis NM waypointnm We believe our mission at Waypoint is to make disciples of Jesus Christ. This is the ongoing mission that Christ has given His church throughout the centuries. This mission can be achieved only through Christ’s authority, power, and abiding presence. We desire to be a congregation that walks closely with Jesus and models our fellowship after His character and priorities. We believe there are three vital aspects to making disciples.1 Gospel-Centeredness (Ezek. 36:22-27, 1 Cor. 10:31, Ps. 127:1, John 15:4-11)In everything we do, we want it to be about who Jesus is, what He has done, and what He will continue to do. As His church, it is our joy to bring glory to God by worshiping and proclaiming Jesus. The gospel is our foundation and guiding point.2 Transformational Community (Rom. 12, Col. 3:1-4, Heb. 12:1-3, Eph. 4:1-7, Phil. 2:12)At Waypoint we want to meet people where they are but we do not want to leave them where they are.
