The Condition of the Lost

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today. Why does vision matter when it comes to sharing our faith? Well, because Scripture tells us the reality of lostness. Isaiah says that all of us, like sheep, have gone astray. Ephesians reminds us that apart from Christ, people are spiritually dead in sin. And Second Corinthians explains that many are blinded to the truth. Understanding this changes how we respond to the lost around us. When we see people as Jesus does, our frustration turns into compassion. And that’s why the Gospel matters so much. Jesus stepped into our brokenness, took our sin on the cross, and rose again to bring life to those who are spiritually dead. We ourselves were in the exact same spot before Jesus transformed our heart. When we remember where we came from, we’re moved to lovingly share the Good News with others.
