In the dead of night, as people sleep, that's when the spirits creep. As the bell tolls three, dark things take power. We like to call it the supernatural hour. Hey everybody, welcome.
We are back for a new episode of Supernatural Hour. This episode is brought to you by the letter A for awesome. And the number four. And the letter D for we will be done in an hour.
And the number five for the number of hosts that we have present today. I am your host, Castle. Looking at me for a fight across the table. What do you think of?
What's happening? A.K. I will fight you. We also have with us we have got beaches.
Hello. Silent dawn. Hello. And we have got Granny Cinnamon.
Hey. Which we are going to call Granny Cinnamon because it's fun. I know, I just have given up on you and trying to fight that. So whatever.
We have got a fun episode for you guys tonight. But before we get started, well let's tell people we are going to talk about before this shut off the show and quit listening. We are going to talk about the Conjuring episode. We are going to talk about the true history behind it.
We are going to talk about the movie of the Conjuring. We are going to talk about all about the Conjuring. And this is kind of a lead up to the show we are going to do next week, which we will hopefully be interviewing Andrea Perrin, who was a victim in the Conjuring. We will get this story from the horse's mouth.
We are going based off of what we saw in the movie, research we have done, and comparing it to knowledge of what we know happens with these kind of hauntings. We are going to have a fun episode. But before we get into that, let's talk about business. Tim, what do we do next weekend?
A lot of fun stuff. Come join us. Wild wacky stuff. We are doing some weird wild stuff.
First up coming on this Friday, which will be one of the areas two days from now, is the Parramal Expo investigation at Fort Nugless. We will be investigating two new buildings that I don't believe have been previously investigated by anyone else. If they have been, it has been at least six years. So take us for that or $35.
They can be found on Eventbrite.com. We also post links on our Facebook pages. Actually, I posted them as the day of this recording I posted them this morning. I believe there is also links on EventsPairnormal.com.
And if there is not, there will be by the time you hear the sweet notes that sounds of Tim's voice. Yes. If you can't find tickets, you are not looking hard enough. It's everywhere.
So... So there's a cream for that. That will be starting at 7pm. And we will be using that first hour there to check everybody in and make sure everyone is organized.
Then we will do a lecture on how to properly investigate and how we do things. We will try to get the investigation rolling at 8 o'clock. Ben Hanson should be there and there is other possible celebrity guests on the investigation, including Chip Coffey, Andrea Perin, Greg Lawson, and Jim Lynn Darlene. It might be attending that investigation.
So it should be a pretty neat investigation. EventsPairnormal will be leading the charge. So we will be organizing it, making sure that it runs. So if you've ever been on any of our investigations where we do groups and rotations, we anticipate having a similar format at this point.
And so it should be fun. There'll be two buildings. I believe we've talked about four groups. Does that not correct him?
It's going to be four to six groups, depending on how many people show up. But again, it's two buildings that we don't normally investigate. So it'll be something new if you've never been to other parts of Fort Douglas. Along with that, the following day, we've got the paranormal Expo, which will be also held up at Fort Douglas.
Tell us a little bit about that, Tim. Like I said, it'll be the following day, Saturday, October 6, which will be this upcoming Saturday, actually. Tickets for general mission are $10, $35 if you want to see the guest speakers as well. That's going to be going from 10.30 in the morning till 7 o'clock at night.
The last two hours, there is a gallery reading being done by Chip Coffee, who's a psychic and medium. Tickets for those range in price from $35 to $55. But as far as some of the celebrity speakers, they have lined up Chip Coffee as one of them. Ben Hanson from TV's Factor Faked will be there.
Jimmy Lynn Darling, we've had her on the show a couple times. She's a teacher and an occultist with over 25 years experience in the film. And then there's also, Embroyzwin Tazkaval. He's an author of over 2000 books with multiple number one best-seller and paranormal psychic and magic genres.
Andrea Perrin, she will also be there. Like we mentioned before, we'll be talking more about her later in the show. She's the oldest daughter of the movie, the Conjuring was based on. She's also the author of a book called House of Darkness, House of Light, and it talks about her family's experiences in the house.
There's also going to be Greg Lawson, the paranormal detective and alien Dave, just to name a few of the special guest speakers that are going to be there. It should be fun. We will also be there. We'll be podcasting from that location.
We should also have a booth for advanced paranormal and wisps at that location. If you've never been to one of these, the price for the tickets is fantastic. This is the least expensive one I've seen, especially given the quality of guests that they brought in. And it's a great venue.
And really, you have an opportunity to see Tim and have him whisper at your stones. You also, I'm guessing, is Newman going to be there? Do we know if Newman's going to be there? Yeah, it should be.
Newman's going to be there. And what's really cool is when you have Tim and Newman at the same location, if you take Tim by his little hand and lead him hobbling over to Newman's table, because Tim hobbles these days. I don't plan on doing a whole lot of hobbling and just a whole lot of sitting and making people cater to me. We're going to put Tim and Wheelchair in half and just talk to Kenny.
But Tim can show you which stones belong to you and you can purchase them. Oh, well, see, after you purchase them, they belong to you. So I can show which ones belong to you. Could belong to you.
Hey, that one you just bought belongs to you. Those are all yours now. Thanks for stopping by. Anyway, come see us.
It'll be fun. We hope to see you guys there. Also, on a side note, the following weekend, October 12, we have gotten an investigation at Vincent Gris Mill, which will be an advanced paranormal investigation. Tickets tickets are, I'm gonna have to go look, I believe they're $30.
If you buy them in pairs, they're $25. So if you bring a date, it's cheaper. But we hope to see you guys there. It should be a good time.
It is the season Halloween's around the corner. It's always fun to come out and do a ghost investigation. Get your spook on. Get your spook on.
Yeah, so, and then also at the end of the month, on October 27, we will be back at Fort Douglas this time. We will be investigating the Military Museum. And that one should be good as well. Back tickets for those should be available soon as well.
If you want tickets to Vincent Gris Mill, you can find those at events, paranormal.com. Events, paranormal.com is really where you can find links to all of these events. So if you go there, you should be able to see the events. Kind of redundant, but there we are.
Thank you, Captain Obvious. So speaking of events, paranormal.com, we have had, it's interesting because we watch social media and we watch some of our reviews on iTunes. We get positive reviews, we get negative reviews, and we are trying to figure out what you guys like and what you guys don't like. And so as you are hearing this, we're gonna have a poll.
The link will be on events, paranormal.com. It's a survey monkey poll. It'll be about a dozen questions. We would be most appreciative if you went on there and answered.
The answers are anonymous. But we wanna know what you guys like. Some people say they don't like our weird, paranormal stories we do. Some people say they love them.
Some people like our celebrity guests. Some do not like our celebrity guests. We're kind of getting some extra reviews from people. And so we wanna find out what the majority of you guys like and what the majority of you guys don't like.
So we can kind of tailor our show to better fit what everybody wants. Obviously we can't please everybody all the time, but we can certainly, if the majority of people hate certain things or the majority of people want certain things, we can kind of focus our efforts in those areas. So events, paranormal.com. The top of the page, you should see a link to the poll.
We would greatly appreciate it if you went in and answered the poll. I'm gonna have to look. But if you go answer the poll, if I can figure out who is actually responded to the poll, again, I won't see your answers, but if we can figure out who is responded, we will give away a pair of tickets to the Ben Stigress Mill investigation if you go through the effort of answering that poll. All right, so let's get on with it.
But before we start, Tim, do you have a stone of the episode for us? Yes, I do. This stone actually comes out of, I believe the Dominican Republic. And it's said to be very rare, but I seem to be able to find it like everywhere I go.
So I'm not sure how rare it actually is. But it's still a pretty cool stone. It's basically the color of it is, it's like a light blue and like gray mixed together. And the picture they have here on crystalvolts.com actually looks really cool.
Like Laramar is one of my new favorites. Oh, Laramar's an amazing stone. I have Laramar. So yeah, I believe when I first found out about Laramar, I just kind of text everybody on the team.
I'm like, make sure you have your own Laramar. Because you ain't touching mine, you bastards. Well, see, one of the cool things that I've learned about Laramar is when I first got it and I was reading in the Crystal Bible, it mentioned how Laramar can be used if placed on the third eye, it can be used to break attachments from entities. Which the third eye for our listeners is kind of a spot on your forehead, about two thirds away down and between your actual eyes.
Like just imagine if you were a Cyclops, like that's where your eye would be. Kind of like you were. Not a Cyclops, cause Cyclops only have a one eye. Kind of when you see somebody from the end they've got a little red dot on their forehead, that's where your third eye is at.
Like if you're a human and a Cyclops and they had a baby and you had three eyes. Yeah. Okay, then we go. Kind of like that.
But we're alien guys from Star Wars. Not just what's so crazy right now. What'd that be at? Tri-Clops?
Probably. Anyway. We don't call ourselves bi-clops though. But why not?
You don't. No way good, I distorted. Yeah. All right.
And the end's starting to the recording. Oh, right. We're in getting so off topic and weird right now. Yeah.
So about those bi-clops is. Yeah, so. Laramart. Laramart.
One of the other awesome things I found out when I first showed mine to Peaches, and I got it. That sounded all kinds of rock. When I showed Peaches my stones all the time. And I buy her stones.
So she has her own stones. I have some big stones. Very big stones. I actually just bought her really big-ass ocean Jasper.
It looks way cooler than mine does. And it costs less than mine in mine's like a little teeny guy. She did. That's what the gem for the four.
I also found out that Laramart will actually keep a record of any entity it's come in contact with. And Peaches was actually able to read that from the stone. Another thing we found out from the Laramart is if you hold it over your heart, it helps break down heart walls. Not only heart walls that you've placed there, but heart walls that were given to you by John Denver over there.
Heartwarming to try me in the middle of my place. I was looking up Laramart stones, and that's what came up. So it helps break down heart walls that you've placed. Look at Laramart stones and I got gay porn.
How would you know what gay porn sounds like? I don't know. I'm just guessing. Right.
Anyway, so yeah, like I said, not only does it break down heart walls that you've placed on yourself, but it will also break down heart walls that were placed there by other spirits entities that necessarily shouldn't be there. Their heart walls are holding you back that you didn't build for whatever reason that you felt like you needed to. We actually have an interesting story with Laramart. Yeah, the first time we used it.
The first time we used it, we actually had the family tree. Do you want to tell the story of the camera? Do you want me to? You can start off with what you experienced up until you brought her to me.
So we had sent a group into the basement. We had a guest with us that Matthew Cronkite had brought with him. Matthew's one of our, he comes on a lot of our investigations. He's a good friend of ours.
And he brought this friend with him and she went down in the basement. And while they're down in the basement, she got feeling kind of weird and had come upstairs. And I can't remember exactly what she had experienced, but she had kind of a bad experience down there. Anyway, I was moving her to the front of the restaurant, which is kind of a safe space, if you will, kind of the primary dining room.
And as we start getting that way, Tim had come up with his Laramart. Well, actually you brought her to me in the room. I was investigating and asked if that was her if it was Lucy. And I just kind of said, come with me.
That's right. She's acting kind of strange. She's acting really weird. Like you can kind of tell her eyes looked a little glazed over and they weren't.
They were mostly dilated. So they basically like almost completely black. And you know if she's not on drugs because, I mean, you'd... No, she's a good, a good, clean normal person.
Yeah, so we were able to rule that out right away. And then as we were checking on her, this kind of little vision popped up on my head and it was of me earlier in the night putting the Laramart on my forehead. Because that's when I had read about it in the Crystal Bible, that's what it's supposed to do. So I go get the Laramart and I come and put it on her forehead and I believe you handed her a piece of tourmaline.
And I'm just sitting there like, I wonder if this actually does anything. And then as I'm thinking that, she just dropped to the ground. It was like she was up and somebody cut her strings. She just literally collapsed.
But it was effective in dealing with whatever was messing with her because as soon as we kind of helped her up, she was right back to her normal self and was kind of confused as to what had happened to her and how she got in that state. Why she was on the floor. Right. But it was really effective.
Yeah. For future reference. Put them in the chair. And then you were like that's the only thing that reaction.
No, I was not. But yeah. We know now in the future, we're using Laramart to set them down first. Yes.
So if you have somebody who happens to be possessed because it happens to all of our listeners on a regular basis and you're using your Laramart, put that on somebody's forehead and make sure they're in the chair before you do. The key is, and I learned this on the way home, I just heard a voice tell me it's like you forgot to cleanse it. So I was able to confirm that with Peaches the first time I showed her the Laramart is that once you use it to clear off the heart walls or break an attachment like that, you need to cleanse it with Salinite or however you want to cleanse it before, it will be effective again. Because I actually tried to do that with two people that night and it didn't work the second time.
And that's like I said, on the way home it kind of hit me. I heard that voice told me it's like we forgot to cleanse it. That's why it didn't work. And she confirmed that it's like, like is that every use needs to be cleansed.
Yeah, it needs to don't know really needs to know. And it's now in my personal kit. I think Jan's got some now too as well. The Laramart.
Peaches has some too. Yeah, and he's don't have around. Anything else on Laramart? Um, nope.
Let's talk investigations. And this is the ends area of specialty. Tell us about some of your investigations that you have been involved in. Oh my gosh, we have been slammed with investigations this last little bit.
Which is good though. We enjoyed them. So keep sending them to us. We've still got one in the works we had to reschedule.
So anyway, we did two this last week and they were both really fun. Sometimes a residential can be a little monotonous and but these two were very active. So the first one was a home quite a ways north of us. It had been a group home at one time.
And we had actually been there previously. Close and portals got rid of a bunch of stuff. But the gal that's there is expecting a baby and she's had some activities made her nervous and so she asked us to come back up. So we went out to ask her where the activity was and she said it was mainly back in what would be the nursery.
A little bit in a bedroom. And we figured out it was a type one female. And it's interesting because she would talk to us through the flashlights and I've got flashlights with the colored lenses, you know, green one and red one. And she would respond really well through the flashlights when we were talking to her.
And then all of a sudden we were all in there sitting on the floor. You know, asking questions and you could feel just the room just get dark and heavy just instantly. And I said, did you feel that? And gone.
Who usually doesn't feel stuff was like, yeah, I feel that. And the homeowner and her sister were there and we felt that. So we were still asking some questions. And the female wasn't talking through the flashlights anymore.
We started getting some talk through the Gussmeter Pro. But it wasn't very, because the gal through the flashlights was talking really fast. You'd ask a question, boom, she'd answer. Boom, she'd answer.
But the entity that was talking through the Gussmeter Pro wasn't quite as forthcoming. It was just interesting to feel the different personalities. Anyway, long story short, turns out that it was a female and her abusive boyfriend spirit that was there. Hang on, I have something to measure.
Again, speaking. How about rum taste? Yarr, you are a pirate. You know what rum always makes me think of Mary Poppins?
What? Mary Poppins, because when she's given the kids their stuff, their medicine, water from this cherry. Yeah, and her's his rum playbird and the kids are like cherry cordial. Back to the fact that I didn't try.
I was just thinking of parts that care being read, but anyway, I'm gonna throw it at you. Anyway, it was really cool. It turns out that it was the lady, her abusive boyfriend, they got crossed. And then there was a cat spirit.
And she's happy. So, so there was that one. The second one was the very next day. And it was actually at my now lady's house.
And we've investigated like her whole family. Back when she was little, one of the family members was involved in something that just brought in a lot of bad stuff. And a lot of it has followed several of these family members. And so she was a little concerned that maybe she had some stuff going on at her house.
So we went over there. And when I've gone over there she's asked me. Do you feel anything? I say, you know, I feel an older woman and that was confirmed, I believe, through Brandy.
And I said, I really don't really think else. I mean, there wasn't anything heavy in her home or anything. So we went over there and yes, she did have this female at hung out in her bedroom, which was where I always felt her every time I went to get my nails done. But we had Mike Finley with us and we were going through the whole house, just kind of seeing what we could feel and taking our K2 meter readings and because in the back of her house, back of her yard she's got a huge, huge, huge power line.
The great big ones were just travels. And so we were kind of just making sure that we got our base reading on our K2. And Mike Finley went back into like a cold storage area. Didn't really think much of it, but he stopped and he got his dowsing rods out.
He started asking questions. Turns out that her great grandfather is there. And she got really emotional. Her father's side of the family's Chinese.
And they can't really find a whole lot of information because the communists in China burned all the genealogy records several years ago. But this fellow was one of the few people that they had records on. And it was just kind of fun to see her get so emotional. And we asked several questions several different times we kept getting, you know, the same answers over and over again so we knew it was legit.
And that was just a lot of fun. Yeah, this is kind of my fair time here just because of the fact that we do get a lot of investigations. And residential investigations can be kind of a not, but they also can be kind of some of the more fun investigations. It's really some of the more fun activity.
But speaking of residential investigations, let's move into the Conjuring. And we all actually had the opportunity to sit down last night and review the movie again. Wasn't really tasty food that I ate too much of. Yes, I also ate too much food.
So let's kind of talk about the movie. Tim, what first comes to your mind from what you saw on the Conjuring last night? It's a very good movie and I recommend everyone watch it. I'll give it to the pastars.
No, it's actually one of my favorite movies just because they did their homework when they made the movie. They did. Well, I mean, they had the help from Lorraine Warren consulted on the film. The whole parent family was there helping with the production of the movie.
The one thing that stood out to me the most is, and I kind of want to talk a little bit about it on maybe the show, but just the way Ed Warren handled things, they talked about infant infestation and oppression and possession. And kind of how that whole thing works. And that's something that you can actually find in the book that evenologists how he explains how all those work. And it's something that we've actually seen firsthand how that whole process goes from encroachment to infestation, oppression, possession.
We've seen various parts of that at various times as we've done this. One thing that I thought was interesting, and I'll get into some of the other stuff later. We'll kind of continue with your line of thought there, Tim. But obviously, even though they did have consultation from the Warrens and parents, they did have to make it into a palatable Hollywood movie.
And so I'll get into some of the historical facts as we get going here. But the actual event happened over the course of 10 years. It wasn't quite a weekend long event like the movie portrays it to be. Yeah, the movie makes it seem like it happened within a matter of like a month or so, but it was actually over, like I said, 10 years that this movie took place.
One of the things they did notice in the movie when I was a postman was doing research is they started off saying that they bought the house at auction from the bank, and they didn't know the previous owners. One thing that was mentioned I guess in the House of Arkansas's of light by Andrea was that when they bought the house, the guy that was selling it to him just said leave the lights on at night. Yeah, don't track the lights at night. Yeah, so the part about where they just bought it from an auction, not exactly true.
They do know the people they bought it from. One thing that's interesting is in the movie that I saw that kind of stick out to me is even in the movie, the haunting stuff started out very, very small at first. In the movie, the dog didn't want to go into the house. There's many, many, many documented occurrences of pets being freaked out about places that are paranormal.
So that was kind of a thing, or it started small. It just started with little claps and the weird sleepwalking and things of that nature. And really in any case, in any case we've investigated as well, things tend to start out small and nobody really notices what's going on until it really starts to ramp up and then they kind of look back and go, oh, hey. Just things being moved, things being misplaced, little sounds, little tappings, knockings, things of that nature.
And so the movie did a very good job portraying that as far as things starting kind of questionably, as far as the people in the house don't really realize that things are weird until it really gets going. Yeah, because you have the dog that didn't want to come to the house. The little girl found the music box and then like the very next day had a new imaginary friend that she was talking to. And then the clapping game, when they played the clapping game a couple days later, she heard a clap in one of the bedrooms and the daughter was, I mean, she was in the room and you can actually hear like the clap coming from the wardrobe, but the daughter was like in a completely different bedroom.
You know, and it's interesting because when I did the historical research, there actually was an incident with the clapping game. One of the daughters, and I can't remember which one it is, there's like five of them. But one of the daughters had hit in a wooden chest that was in the home for the clapping game and there's a wooden chest without any kind of locks, any kind of anything like that that would keep her stuck in there. But she got in the chest and she couldn't get out of the chest.
She kicked and screamed and tried to push the lid off the chest for about 20 minutes until one of the other sisters, 20 minutes later, she came and opened up the chest and there she was, but she was trapped in the chest, she couldn't push her way out. There's nothing to explain why she wouldn't have been able to get out of that chest. Now what's interesting from the historical movie, or let me back up, what's interesting from the historical standpoint is they say that the spirit haunting the family is a Bathsheba Sherman. Yeah, most of the review that I looked into was about Bathsheba.
So yeah, they said she was the one that they decided she was the one that was haunting the family. A little bit of the history of her, she was actually born Bathsheba Thayer and she was born in 1812. She eventually married her husband Judson Sherman in 1844. And from what they said is that she basically she was a housewife and he was a farmer.
And there's only like one report or one incident that they mentioned in the article about her being a witch was that supposedly there was an infant child that she was taking care of. And the child mysteriously died. And when they examined the body of the child at the stem of the brain in the back, there was a large hole that like needed needle was used to impel the child. So they thought she was a witch that she was sacrificing the baby to the devil to get everlasting youth basically and to stay beautiful all the time.
And she was actually waiting on the criminal church. Yeah, they actually put her on trial and they didn't have enough evidence. So she was actually found innocent of the murder of the child. Yeah, it wasn't even her child.
The child is just a child of her care. In fact, historically, it shows that she had, I believe, four children. Well, officially she had one child. One that made it into adulthood.
Yes, he, I think he died like 60 or something like that. Basically after her and her husband passed away, he kept the farm going. But as far as the other three children, it was the, it's an unofficial record on an internet family tree website. Where they've listed the names of the three other children, which is Julia Edward and George that were supposedly born in 1845 1847 1853.
Yeah, there's no official like census record of those children or of them ever existing because like some of the legends say that she had the four children and none of them lived past the age of four, but other legends that they don't live past seven. But I mean, there is evidence in the US census to show that her first son, it was Herbert, her first son Herbert actually lived as a good concerned man Sherman Sherman in turban. Herman Sherman, this is not from a movie. No idea.
But yeah, he lived a full life, had a family of his own. He was a successful farmer as well. So, you know, some of the history that they pulled up doesn't exactly coincide. And again, that's not uncommon with the Hollywood movie because they are going to embellish details or change details to make the story more interesting.
One thing that did, well, let me back up. Bathsheba actually died of old age. Yeah, she died of a stroke, I believe, at the age of like 73. Yeah, and there's a lot of folklore about like her body turned to stone and some other folklore, but obviously very down the way that she died of some form of paralysis that puzzles her frightened doctors.
But yeah, it's basically she just died of stroke and then she was old. It was just natural causes. There was nothing mysterious by her death. Now, one thing that is interesting about the property though is there was a lot of deaths on the property.
According to the public records, over the course of existence, there have been two suicides by hanging on the property, one suicide by poison. There was the rape and murder of a linear old child who had her throat slit by the farm worker who assaulted her. Two drownings and four men who actually froze the death at one point on the property. So, you know, it's interesting about that is there was a video that was released after the movie came out by the current owners of the home.
They're not very happy. No, they're not. Because when stuff like this, you know, the leak that where the original farmhouse was and people being the silly people that they are decided that, hey, I'm going to go check out this scary haunted house without thinking about, you know, like the fact that people like to be there and they want to be left alone just like you would be. So, like, if you find out where some are haunted, don't just show up and start trespassing.
That's not cool. But they basically said that all the claims that Carolyn Perin made about like Bastia, because in the movie they said the Warrens are the ones that found out about Bastia, but Carolyn Perin is one that actually did all the research. And basically she's saying that in the little bit I got to watch with the clip because it was like an hour long. I watched the first 30 seconds.
But she talks about how all those suicides and murders never actually occurred and there's evidence of that. And basically she's saying everything that the Perin family talked about, she has evidence or proof that it's all fictional. But I mean, I probably would go to the same length. I'm not saying that I don't know which side actually is legit, but I would probably, if I had a bunch of trash passes on my house because of a movie, I'd probably make some shit up too to keep people from coming to my house.
Well, essentially because every major haunting that's been turned into a movie has got us to track her in. I mean, you look at Amityville and I've seen interviews with some of the kids from the actual Amityville incident and they've out and not talked about it. You can tell they're really bothered by what happened. And then you get others who say that George Lutz made it up over a bottle of wine and that the ward are frauds.
And so, yeah, that's, I mean, because they wrote a book and all that. And there's a whole documentary on Netflix about the Lutz family and how they were just doing it for their 15 minutes of fame. Right. But then on the other hand, there's a lot of evidence that shows that it was all legit.
Well, we personally held some spoons from the Amityville house. In Beach, I was able to confirm there's a lot of negative energy attached to it. Correct. And so I don't think this is really any different.
I mean, you've got a very widely publicized haunting. And like you said, the owners of the Kurt Homer, if you, like I said, I listened to the first 30 seconds of the video and basically the Kurt owners like, yeah, we're pissed off. The movie company didn't come talk to us unless another doing this. They used the family's real name.
They used the city where this happens real name. And we got all kinds of people come to our property. We want them to knock it off. And so there's a very real reason for them not to want the city.
Well, what I found interesting is on the website that I did the research on, they actually said that the current family has talked about experiences that they've had in their house. Nothing to the extent that the parent family had, but they'd have like door slam and other stuff is what's listed on the one website. But then we have the video from the owners, like basically saying, no, all this is false. I know this ever really happened and the print's made it all up.
Yeah, accordingly, the owners supposedly recorded a door banging in the front hall so they heard sounds of people talking in another room, footsteps accompanied by an opening door in another room. Apparently the husband's chair was vibrating in his study. They both saw blue light, shoot across the bedroom, and the husband actually at one point said he saw a fog in the home. And so you've kind of got these contradictory reports.
But again, I suspect that if I had every ghost hunting com, dick and hairy in a re-high school kid with a flashlight shot from my front door or poking through my garage when I'm not home, I would probably be pretty adamant that, hey, nothing's going on. I'm making a video, don't come to my house. Yeah, and you can't blame him. Nobody wants to have to worry if they go to the grocery store that someone's going to be poking through their garage or their property.
So it's kind of interesting to see that even they had some reports up until the point where they decided to go ahead and debunk it. And the debunk itself is questionable, if that makes sense, questionable motives and alternatives behind it. Like I said, if I had a lot of random people show up to my house to rummage through that, I'd probably make some shit up too to keep them from wanting to come and do that. Now having shown some of the pictures of the actual farmstead and the farmhouse two peaches last night, I'm going to lean more on the side of the house that the house is haunted and that the parens weren't, I don't know if, I mean obviously some of the Hollywood, the conjuring is going to be embellished, but I don't know that the parens are actually necessarily making anything up.
Based on the fact that when Peach saw the house, a picture of the house that was taken in 1885, she saw seven spirits on the property, one being a type three. And when I showed her a picture of the house that was during the time that all this was going on with the paren family, the same type three was in that picture as well. So, I mean, over almost 100 years, these photos were taken apart and you have the same type three. So I'm leaning more towards a demonic possession that was going on with that family.
Well, let me be interesting, the true history behind the home, what actually did happen there, what really did happen to that infant that died, the background story there, what brought a type three in. It'd be fascinating to know those things. What's kind of interesting is I kind of wonder going back a little bit to the family who made the video debunking it to keep people from their property. And I like some info from you guys, but you think it would do them more harm or more good to bring in somebody like, and I know I beg on Zach Baggins, bringing in a ghost adventure to come to an investigation on their home.
I think if you bring in Jason Haws and the crew from Taps and have them investigate and see if they can find, that would be more legit, in my opinion, than in the Zagins. But I wonder if current modern investigation, very public like that, would actually calm people down from wanting to go there if it would settle folks down versus the hordes that are showing up now to investigate on their own thoughts. I think there's that element of people wanting to investigate it for themselves and see it for themselves and it probably cause more issues. I can tell you what I saw from the family in Ogden that had Zach Baggins come out.
I was able to actually find them on Facebook and it's all sorts of crazies are coming out of the woodworks wanting to go to those people's houses. So maybe a backfire. They could backfire. I mean, me personally, if I were to do something like that, I would use the Taps crew.
I wouldn't use anybody else. I probably would too cause they're more apt to debunk than, I think every knock in Bangla's a demon. Yeah, I say ghost adventure to crew everything. Everything's a demon and Zach freaks out and starts kicking stuff on every episode.
So yeah, I would agree with that, Tim. I'm probably towards the Taps crew myself. But yeah, it could go either way to be honest with you, but judging off of that one family's experience here in Utah, I think it would probably do more harm than good. So as far as physical people showing up to the house, as far as like a spiritual level where maybe they'll get rid of some spirits that don't need to be there anymore, that might be a good thing.
So it could be guess 22. It'd be interesting to see, but obviously, we're not going to, but it'd be curious to see. I think you see what happened if we were able to go in, what we could figure out, especially if we took peaches with us and come to the bottom of that, be kind of interesting in and of itself. So we go to the road out?
To show up, go grocery shopping, in the house. So down your own watch, you can't be silent if they show up. Honk the horn twice if you seem to come down the road. One for land, two if I see.
Now what's interesting is I did a little bit of research myself on the parent family as far as what the activity was, and I'm hoping that we can talk to Andrea on our next episode and actually get to a lot more detail on some of this stuff. But I kind of had a list of how the haunting progressed based on what they reported. And they said the haunting initially started by small things being misplaced. You know, toys that move under a bed, things of that nature, where they had five girls in the house, and I've got all daughters myself.
Basically, they just get upset and be like, hey, why don't you move my stuff? I didn't move your stuff. You know, there was kind of, it was the invisible sister that nobody knew about who's moving stuff, which anybody who has kids has experienced that. And so they didn't really put two two together initially.
They said that they initially, when they moved into the home, knew they had spirits in the home just based on some activity there. And they said initially the spirits were of a friendly nature. They reported that the spirits basically tucked into bed and kissed them on the forehead at night. Initially, they thought it was our mom, but realized that the spirit actually smelled like fruit and flowers where their mom smelled like ivory soap.
And so it was very benign initially when they first moved into the home. They didn't really get too worked up about it because everything was kind of low-key. And we've experienced that where people had those kind of nice things happen and they start to ramp up. The first negative experience that happened happened in their barn.
They mentioned that they were actually attacked when they were out in the barn, which was the first negative incident they had. Shortly after that, a voice told one of the girls that there's bodies of seven dead soldiers buried inside the walls of the home. She kind of freaked out and told all of her sisters about this. And then one of the next things that happened is about five fifteen in the morning, a smell running flesh began waiting through the house.
And everybody was basically tossed out of their beds one by one throughout the whole house. At that point, they reported that the male spirit started torturing the girls. Apparently they went into a lot of detail about what this torture was. They just said it was a relentless torture from what they assumed was a male spirit.
The mom Carol at that point began seeing a woman in gray by the bed in order to get out where she would drive them out by doom and gloom. And they thought the spirit was the Bathsheba spirit. In fact, that's one thing with the movie that I didn't really care for is that they kind of portrayed that the demonic spirit was the witch. But that's not really how that works.
They talked about how she hung herself in the tree and that she possesses the mother to kill the children and whatnot. I don't think there's any evidence of that actually being accurate. What I do know from what I researched is the way they determined that Bathsheba was the one causing the problems was that Carolyn had told Ed and Lorraine a story that happened to her a couple years before the warrens had got there where she laid down to take a nap. And she felt this piercing pain in her calf and then when she checked, like the muscle seized up, so she went checking there was some blood on her leg.
A little bit of blood, so she checked to see if there was anything around that could have stabbed her leg like that and she can find anything. So when she had told this to the warrens alongside of telling them about Bathsheba and the infant child that she supposedly murdered with the needle. That's when Lorraine wore and I guess put two of them together and said, well it's possible she took the needle to the afterlife with her and that's where she used to stab your leg and she still uses it on people. And so I guess from that point on Lorraine had just started referring to the demonic entity as Bathsheba.
Right, and so the movie kind of portrays it. Bathsheba is the one possessing Terrell, but really that's usually the type 3 who does that kind of thing. After the doom and gloom incident, the family started reporting physical attacks, poax, prawns, pinches, and then at that point the report that's when Carolyn was possessed where basically the harms started to go up to the level of harm. They initially reported that the warrens came to the house off and on over the course of 10 years, so it wasn't just like a week long visit like they portrayed the movie.
The warrens would come in and out as issues would get worse and get better, get worse and get better. We'd even experience that ourselves as a team where we'd go into places where activity gets worse and better, worse and better, until we can find the source of what the issue is before we can put it to rest so to speak. And we reported that the warrens conducted a sense in the basement. Carolyn spoke in tongues.
And we watched her tear-loaded and Carolyn was thrown across the room. Lorraine reported that she's disturbed in the core. And so they had kind of incidents there. They said a lot of stuff going on over the course of years, so it wasn't all one big ramp up to the conclusion of a queer movie.
It was stuff that happened. I think with the levitation of the chair they went a little overboard by having the chair flip upside down and start pounding on the ceiling. Right. I don't think that the levitation occurs during an exorcism like that.
It's going to be that extreme. That dramatic. I figured from all the movies I've seen where they've depicted real events, I do think the Conjuring was probably the most realistic one I've seen. But yeah, there's a few things I thought.
That's probably Hollywood's flair. Well, they did their homework for the most part. It's a fantastic movie. Anytime Hollywood does a movie like that, they're going to take some artistic license to make the movie more interesting.
I mean, had they really made that movie be accurate as far as dragging it out over 10 years? It went up in the bottom. You would be bored. Yeah, you'd be bored.
You'd be bored, Steph. Kind of like Ben Hanson, having had conversations with Ben Hanson. He says when you watch an episode of a TV show like Ghost Hunters or the Taps, which everyone's called. Ghost Hunters.
Basically, there's one or two full days of investigation goes into a 20-minute segment of an episode. And that's been our experience too. You'll go spend four or five hours at a home and you may have one or two noteworthy things to talk about in that short period of time. Ghost Hunters takes a whole lot of boredom, filled with some really cool experiences in the middle.
And so, again, this event occurring over the course of 10 years would be not very exciting movie. So you've got to kind of wrap it up. Family shows up, things go bad, things get worse, worse, worse, worse, real credits. Because, again, you're trying to sell movie tickets by re-enacting basically what is considered a true story or based on a true story.
But overall, it's a fantastic movie. It's one of my personal favorites I've seen several times. And they do a pretty good job of capturing the creepiness of that kind of incident. Yes.
Yeah, I think it was, I mean, obviously it was drummed up for Hollywood, but as far as the general story of what happened to the family, I feel they were pretty accurate. I mean, there was an interview with Andrea where she even says this close to the same thing that they felt they were pretty spot on with what her family went through. You know, and it's interesting, you know, back to the, did it happen or did it not with the people who currently on the house, you know, even in the last episode of Radio Ronan and some other previous episodes of Radio Ronan, Chantas talked about things that occurred and happened to them after interviewing her just for the radio show and some things that they've had happen. Well, as I said, with the two pictures that were 100 years apart, and one of them being during the time that the parents lived in the house, Randy saw the type three in both pictures.
So I mean, there's definitely demonic presence during the time they lived there. So, Peach is let me ask you, having seen the pictures, and I don't know if you can tell this or not, on the type three that you saw in the photos, you said it was the same type three in two different pictures 100 years apart. Could you get a sense from the type three of how nasty it was, like one being like a little bunny rabbit type three and like ten being a spawn of same type three? Were you able to determine that from the photos?
Um, from the, because when you have a lot of energy, it can get very, you know, bright, so the more you have the brighter it is. It's the same concept, so it would probably be like Annabelle, if you were to, as far as like powers and things it could do, it would be long and light about everything. So a little bit more powerful than your typical type three? Well, if I remember correctly, and you kind of mentioned what the family had saw earlier with it being a man, she had described to me the way that, and I think I saw it in the picture, I'm not sure, but the type three in the picture looked, it was making itself look like it was a man.
Mm-hmm. No? There was a man. Do tell a picture.
There is a man in that photo, it's just not the picture. There's a man in the photo. Um, no, but the type three that it was was a, it didn't really have a gender. So all you could see was partial face, and then there's just a lot of black hair that covers, it's almost like the only looking chick, but you couldn't tell if it was male or female.
So like a androgynous almond looking chick? Yeah, it's weird, but you couldn't tell because the clothing it was wearing, it was just black. Okay. All the way down to the feet, so like old jammies from way back one type of thing.
And what's interesting is you mentioned you can see half a face and basically a type three cannot perfectly reproduce a human appearance. There's always going to be some sort of flaw in that type three's appearance, so that's interesting in and of itself. Well, I also showed her a photo of Beth Geeba's headstone because it's a, she's buried at the cemetery there in downtown, IHairsville, Rhode Island, where the movie took place. And what she described coming off the headstone was kind of like a blue green energy, right?
But it was not like normal energy. No, so like the energy came out and it was mostly green. And then like, like I say, if you were to look at like fire, how they represent fire most of its friends are some yellow highlights in that crop. It was that way, but with blue and green.
Oh, interesting. Any idea what the energy means? Mm-hmm. No, but it's probably just not like normal type of energy that she usually sees coming off of someone's headstone.
Interesting. It might just be because... People could have done like seances there. Yeah, for all I know, I had no idea.
Like it could have been a number of reasons, but it kind of fascinated in and of itself. Yeah, it had two different colors, so I was like, okay, that's not normal, but all right, I don't know, that means I can't do anything about it. All right, well, I think that is going to be our review of the Conjuring. The same as anything else I'd like to add.
Deann Don. No, I'm good. All right. Well, before we end, we are going to do some of our weird paranormal stories.
Deann, I do believe you have a story for us tonight. I do, and it's not one that I... this is a personal experience, not my personal experience, but I went to a massage therapist, a friend of mine. And while she was giving me the massage, she just was telling me the story that I found interesting, so I thought I'm not sure.
She said that, and I apologize to her, she's gonna listen to this episode. If I get some of the details wrong, so please forgive me, Michelle. So she says that for the longest time, I believe she said about 10 years, she has a fly around her all the time. And the way she described it, she says, you know, when Snoopy, there's the kid named Pinkpin that always has flies, just goes around him all the time.
She says it's just like that. She says, everywhere I go, I have a fly. She has hygiene problems, she takes a bath. She's very clean.
And she said that over the course of all these years I'm having this fly with her, and she is fairly sensitive, and she's into the paranormal, and she's very open-minded. And so the feeling that I get from the fly is that it's ancestors that are watching over me. She says, I don't think it's the same ancestor every time. And she says, one time she put her hand down on the table, and the fly landed on her hand.
I know you can't see me, but the people here can see me. She said it walked up and down each finger. And she said the impression she got was that it was trying to say, I made you, I created you, and that it was trying to say it was her mother. I think you need to get Ralph Mancio over there with a pair of Coptic and give her to that thing.
So anyway, and then she said, how did this go? Oh, then she said one time she went to a barbecue where she went to someone's house, and she walked into the bathroom, and she said, for the first time in a very long time, she realized, oh my gosh, there's not a fly around me. And she said, no sooner did she think that she seriously was like it came out of a veil or something. It just appeared out of nowhere, boom, this fly.
You know, just kind of buzz in her. Go, fly! Anyway, I just thought that was interesting because she asked me if I'd ever heard of anyone having a little fly attachment or a butterfly attachment. So she has a familiar?
So what is a familiar? Is your nail take a witch first off? This is at my nail take, this is my massage therapist. Oh, she's a very nice lady.
It'd be nice to welcome you up. A familiar would be like your spirit animal that follows you around. Have you ever seen the Golden Compass? No.
Or read it? No. Basically in the Golden Compass, you know how our spirits are within our bodies? Their spirits are in the form of a familiar or an animal that follows them around everywhere.
And basically in the book, if you're familiar dies, you die or vice versa because you're both one of the same. That's why that's why. So that's why there's a flier familiar? I don't know.
You may see this. I'm not moving, so I'm not carrying it. You see a bug zapper. You see a bug zapper go off and I'll send you to the drops dead?
Spoiler alert on the Golden Compass, if you've never read it, that's been out for quite a long time. It was written by an atheist and basically they find God and kill him and they hit the book. That's terrible. If you want to know what a familiar is, watch the sci-fi version of Salem.
And that shows you the closest to a real familiar one. Because they had like one of the ladies had a snake and one had a rat. And I know the one that had the rat didn't choose the rat. She didn't like it.
She kept killing the rat, but it kept coming back. Because it was her familiar, she finally accepted that. Like one of them had a toad. But they would use, it was kind of cool, but kind of creepy at the same time in the show.
They would take that familiar and they would shove it in someone's mouth and use that familiar to control that person to make them do what they wanted to do. That's disgusting. So like the main witch in Salem had fed her husband a toad. They kept him basically, Kamato's.
They kept him alive. So she was still the richest person in the city. And because he was like the head magistrate type guy, or the head senate or whatever. And so because he was Kamato's, she was stepping in as his replacement and basically controlling the government of the city as well.
What do you say to us? I know. You mentioned Salem and I wanted to talk about it. We're going to need some liner bar in the rough poison.
I wonder if my work stuff is familiar. Alright, so I've got a story for us. This one comes out of New Jersey. It comes from Bergen County River.
And apparently somewhere in the middle of the river there is a submarine that is basically beached. And two ghost hunters, Laura Paul Mies and Ian Stevens decided that they were going to investigate the submarine. Ian Stevens? Ian Stevens.
Very similar, yes. So they decided to swim in the river out to the submarine, the USS Ling. And apparently while they're investigating, they stole a couple of items from the submarine. They stole a lantern and a medical corps lieutenant's shoulder lapels that were inside this historic submarine.
Their paranormal group, who they're associated with, is not very happy. I kicked them out. Yeah, they're like, yeah, they weren't operating on behest of us. And they are facing criminal charges for theft.
Basically, what's considered an archeological site. So they're being charged. And this story seems particularly relevant given the fact that we're talking about people showing up to the home where the conjuring occurred and investigating and doing stuff. Listen, if you are an investigator, whether you're a dude with a flashlight or you belong to a team, if you're investigating somewhere you don't have permission to be, you're an idiot.
Everybody's sitting at this table right now with me because we wanted to investigate certain locations that we can't get into because idiots like these have gone and done stupid stuff that has basically made us all property owners say we don't want any investigators to come because the ones who did come were disrespectful. They damaged property. They came here in the press past. You're ruining it for all of us.
You're ruining it for all of us. So do us a favor. Click your hand. Slap your own face.
And don't ever go go saying ever again if you're one of those people because you are screwing up for everybody. Yeah. I was looking at him because he had this one kind of space like he'd say something but he didn't say something. Oh no.
You keep up me hanging. That's what you usually do. All right. So that will be our episode for today.
Don't forget. We have the Permanual Expo, June 5th and 6th, the 50s investigation. Don't forget your tickets. Don't forget the Fort Douglas investigation on October 27th.
We have said that it's in Grissmill, October 12th. And again, we ask that if you haven't yet, go fill out our survey that will be posted on events, Permanual.com. We'll probably also post it on a few places on Facebook. I'm not sure if you're going to get the answer to our anonymous but if it does tell us who replied to the survey, we will randomly pick an individual giving them two tickets to events at Grissmill.
That's a Fort Douglas because you're basically giving people a week to take a survey. Yeah, we can do that. Fort Douglas, the October 27th investigation will give you a pair of tickets to that one. Actually, you know what?
We'll let it be your choice. Or you can take the third option on January 12th. Or January 12th. But go take that survey.
We will choose a winner. We will give you tickets but we really want your book because we want to tailor the show to what the majority of you like. If there's things you don't like, we'll get rid of those. If there's things you do like, we'll try to do more of those.
If things are fantastic the way they are, we won't do anything. We just want to make sure that if there's issues, if we're doing something folks don't like that we know what those things are and can change those. Anyway, thanks everybody for listening and we will be back in two weeks. Peace out butterflies.
See you later. Bye. You've been listening to The Supernatural Hour at Advanced Paranormal.com.
