The Cornelius Factor

from Heritage Sermon Audio · host Andy Sieberhagen

Application Questions:1. We learn in Acts 10:1-4 that God spoke to Cornelius through a dream (vision) and Andy told some stories of many followers today all across the world that found Jesus through a vision and someone coming to fulfill that vision. Have you ever had a vision or dream that God fulfilled? What was it and what did that feel like?2. Why do you think God uses his followers rather than angels to be carriers of the gospel?3. Andy made the point that we overcome prejudice through a journey of repentance (2 Cor. 10:4-5) - literally changing the way we think. How do we practically change the way we think?4. Peter had to learn that God didn’t have favorites, figuring this out opened up the world to the Gospel. How does the church, and we as individuals, still struggle with this false idea that God has favorites?5. “Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are.” - Benjamin Franklin. Do you feel this is true? Why do you find it true/false?6. Have you looked at the Heritage Reconciliation resource page? If so, what resources did you or are you going to check out?7. How is God renewing your mind and changing the way you think?
