The coronavirus and the fault lines in our health and other systems

from Think Again · host Jacques and Jennifer

The coronavirus has taken us all by surprise and revealed certain fault lines in our health system and all the other parts and processes connected to and sustaining that system. These fault lines include the systematic cuts in the resourcing of our public health system and the shift to privatisation, the casualisation of our workforce, and the neoliberal focus on people as 'mere' individuals rather than social in nature and therefore fully connected and related with one another and with the nature that surrounds us and of which we are part - indeed, an increasingly damaging part as the Anthropocene concept suggests.
