from The Ignition News Podcast · host From The Rebel Radio Network

IGNITION NEWS - December 26, 2025Power protecting itself while everyday people get screwed. That’s the throughline of today’s seven stories. The FCC just banned Chinese drones claiming national security, but if they’re really dangerous, why are millions already in use fine? DJI controls 70 percent of the global drone market and has been begging for an actual security review for years. Instead they got a rubber stamp from some unnamed White House body. This is protectionism disguised as patriotism while American companies scramble to catch up to superior Chinese tech. Same playbook as the TikTok ban, same playbook as blocking Chinese EVs.Trump claims he could fix the 4.6 percent unemployment rate with one phone call by rehiring government workers, but he won’t because that would be the destruction of a country. His math is off by a factor of 13. He’d need to add 3.5 million jobs, not 271,000. And unemployment isn’t up because of government cuts anyway. There are 982,000 more unemployed people now than when he took office. He spent a decade lying about these numbers. In 2016 he said unemployment was 42 percent, then the second he got into office those fake numbers became real because they made him look good.CBS News editor Bari Weiss killed a fully vetted 60 Minutes story about Venezuelan deportees being tortured in El Salvador. The story was screened five times, cleared by lawyers and standards, factually correct. Then Weiss spiked it Saturday morning because the Trump administration refused to comment. As correspondent Sharyn Alfonsi wrote, if the administration’s refusal to participate becomes a valid reason to spike a story, we’ve handed them a kill switch for any reporting they find inconvenient. This is happening while Paramount needs Trump to play nice for their Warner Bros bid.An Israeli reservist drove an ATV directly into a Palestinian man praying on the roadside in the West Bank. There’s video. The military confirmed it, confiscated his weapon, and put him under house arrest. House arrest for deliberately running someone over. This is one incident in what the UN calls one of the most violent years on record for settler attacks. Over 750 injuries from settler violence this year. More than 1,000 Palestinians killed. All with American weapons, American funding, American political cover. The FDA recalled 83,800 bags of frozen shrimp contaminated with Cesium-137, a radioactive isotope that increases cancer risk. Sold at Price Chopper, Albertsons, Safeway across 17 states. The contamination traces back to a steel plant in Indonesia less than 2 kilometers from the shrimp processor. Check your freezer.Trump’s approval among working class Americans earning under 50,000 dollars has cratered to negative 34 points. The demographic that put him back in office now disapproves by 34 points. In November it was negative 28. His response? Call the polls fake and brag about sitting in the Oval Office. The FBI spent nearly a million dollars in overtime to redact Jeffrey Epstein files. 934 agents worked 14,278 hours in one week. This is the same president who promised to release these files during his campaign. When they finally came out, at least 550 pages were entirely blacked out. Within 24 hours they pulled down a photo of Trump, Epstein and Maxwell together. That’s not transparency. That’s a coverup. And you paid for it.Seven stories. One throughline. Your assignment: pick one story and share it with someone who doesn’t follow news closely. Make them uncomfortable. Make them think. That’s how this changes.Find us at theignition.news or search Ignition News on all podcast platforms. To hear more, visit theignitionpodcast.substack.com
