Solo Episode Hiring and cultivating an intrinsically motivated team for your practice has never been more difficult. In today’s “Great Resignation” it is even harder to find good talent, let alone retain them. This becomes a hidden tax on your business and can be a drag on your growth. If hiring and retaining talent is hard enough, how can you possibly develop a great team culture in your practice? I decided to take my team of doctors to the Scheduling Institute’s Culture Fest 2.0 in Atlanta a couple of weeks ago with the intention to learn as much as possible about building and cultivating culture in our practice. In this episode, I provide you with my takeaways from Culture Fest 2.0 and how we need to focus on this more than ever. Not only will it improve your team acquisition and retainment, but it will improve your patient’s experience, which is the driver of your practice. If you consider yourself a patient=centered chiropractor, then you must optimize your patient experience, and team culture is a big part of that. The guest speakers at Culture Fest were: • Jay Geier: Founder of Scheduling Institute • Magic Johnson: NBA Hall of Famer and LA Dodgers Owning Partner • Kindra Hall: President and Chief Storytelling Officer at Steller Collective • Ryan Estis: Renowned Leadership Training • Nido Qubein: President of High Point University • Doug Lipp: Former Head of Training at Disney University. One of the top concepts I learned at the conference was The Principles of Trust. This is one of the key sets of principles that are the foundation of much of our lives, but it stands out in our profession and in building the culture of your practice. Principles of Trust • Self-Trust • Relationship Trust • Organizational Trust • Market Trust • Societal Trust I provide you with my breakdown of the Principles of Trust and how I believe it applies to our practice. I also touch on some other aspects I gained from this 2-day event and want to continue the conversation with you on future episodes.
