THE COST OF YOUR INDEPENDENCE

Scripture: “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” – Galatians 5:1 Devotional Message: Freedom always comes with a price. Nations celebrate independence because someone paid with sacrifice, courage, and resilience. In the same way, our spiritual independence—our freedom in Christ—came at the greatest cost: the blood of Jesus on the cross. True independence is not living without rules, but living in the liberty Christ provides—free from sin, guilt, and condemnation. However, this freedom also comes with responsibility: to live in obedience to God, walk in love, and use our liberty to serve others, not ourselves. Your independence in Christ is not cheap—it was purchased at Calvary. Therefore, cherish it, guard it, and live daily in gratitude, never returning to the chains of sin He delivered you from. Today, Ask Yourself: Am I living in the freedom Christ purchased for me, or am I drifting back into the bondage He already broke? Prayer: Lord, thank You for the priceless gift of freedom in Christ. Help me walk worthy of this liberty, honoring the cost You paid. May my life reflect Your sacrifice daily. Amen.
