The Dallas Cowboys are less than 48 hours away from final roster cuts, but several major questions remain unanswered before the team has to finalize its 53-man roster. Mauricio Rodriguez breaks down the biggest Cowboys roster mysteries heading into the preseason finale against the New Orleans Saints including defensive tackle uncertainty, the final linebacker and edge spots, the wide receiver battle, the cornerback room and the impact of injuries. One of the biggest questions is what happens with veteran defensive tackle Jonathan Bullard. Bullard entered training camp viewed by many as a safe bet to make the roster because of his experience, but he has not practiced since suffering an injury on August 4 and has missed both preseason games. With roster cuts approaching, Mauricio wonders if Dallas could make a surprising decision and move on from the veteran defensive lineman. That could open the door for another defensive tackle who has shown flashes as a true nose tackle. The Cowboys also have a fascinating decision at outside linebacker. Dallas appears to have four players locked into roster spots, but the final position battle between Sam Williams and Marist Liufau remains unresolved.
