The Credentials for Leadership
from Sanjay Prajapati · host Dr. Sanjay Prajapati
Moses demonstrates the greatest credentials for leadership in the Bible. Not only was Moses one of the greatest prophets recorded in the Bible and the giver of the Torah, he also became one of the greatest leaders in human history. Within 210 year of the Israelites' exile in Egypt, the Jewish population rose up to 2,500,000 people. This number includes 600,000 men between the ages of 20-60. The number 600,000 is significant because there are 600,000 letters in the Torah, the first 5 books of the Bible. Moses was chosen by God to lead a population of 2.5 million people out of Egyptian slavery and to lead them to the border of the Promised Land in their 40 year journey. I don't think anyone has a better resume for the credentials for leadership than Moses. This week, we will explore Moses' credentials for leadership. His call to leadership began in Exodus 2:11: [Exodus 2:11 RSV] "11 One day, when Moses had grown up, he went out to his people and looked on their burdens; and he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his people."
