The Crow (1994) - The 90s Rock Soundtrack Where Goth and Grunge Intersect with Free With This Month’s Issue’s Colin
from Soundtrack Your Life · host Nicole Barlow & Ryan Pak | Soundtrack Experts
Trigger Warning: There is brief mention of sexual assault in this episode since it is central to the plot of The Crow. Colin Jackson-Brown from the podcasts, Free with This Months's Issue and We Dig Music, talks with Brandice and Ryan about the soundtrack to the 1994 Alex Proyas film, The Crow. The film was a sleeper hit, while the soundtrack debuted at #1 on the Billboard albums chart and went on to go triple platinum. The soundtrack featured The Cure, Rage Against the Machine, Stone Temple Pilots, Helmet and Nine Inch Nails (covering Joy Division), among other artists, so it's success was much less of a surprise. Many of the bands were referenced in the comic books for The Crow, so Colin explains those connections. He also mentions a previously pitched vision for for The Crow that would've been absolutely insane. The discussion focuses primarily on the music, but obviously, the tragic on set death of Brandon Lee cannot be avoided. For More Information about Colin:Website: https://www.wedigpodcasts.comIG: freewiththismonthsissue, wedigmusicTwitter: thismonthsissue, wedigmusicWe would love it if you would join our Patreon membership, where you will get quarterly bonus episodes, early access to our regular episodes, and much more! This podcast uses the following third-party services for analysis: Podscribe - https://podscribe.com/privacySpotify Ad Analytics - https://www.spotify.com/us/legal/ad-analytics-privacy-policy/Soundtrack Your Life SocialsBlueskyInstagramWriting SiteYouTubePatreon Learn more about your ad choices.
