The Crucified Word
from Trinity Community Church Hosted by Neil Silverberg
Why would the sinless Messiah of Israel submit Himself to a baptism for sinners? Join us in this transformative sermon as we explore the crucified Word in John 1 and unravel the deep connection between Jesus' baptism, the original Passover story, and the 53rd chapter of Isaiah. Discover how these biblical events reveal the significance of Jesus as the Lamb of God and why He willingly underwent baptism. As we dive into the powerful redemption and new covenant in Jesus' sacrifice, we examine 1 Peter 1 and Hebrews 10, shedding light on the cost of redemption and the reminder of sins that the rivers of blood flowing in Jerusalem throughout the centuries were meant to provide. Reflect on the impact of Jesus' sacrifice as the Lamb of God and consider your own place within the company of the redeemed. In this episode, we invite you to assess your relationship with the Lamb of God and contemplate whether you are part of the redeemed company. Seize this opportunity to settle this issue and remember that being part of a church does not guarantee you a place in the ransom company. Let us pray for healing and understanding, hoping that God will draw men and women to the Lamb throughout our church. We are Trinity Community Church in Knoxville, Tennessee.
