Sermon Text: Psalm 85 1. Lord, we Recall your Salvation in the Past (Psalm 85:1-3) • You have shown us Your Favor (v. 1) • You have shown us Your Forgiveness (vv. 2-3) 2. Lord, we need you to Restore us with Joy in the Present (Psalm 85:4-7) • Restore us to a Right Standing before You (vv. 4-5) • Revive us to a Rejoicing Heart in You (vv. 6-7) 3. Lord, we long for you to Revive us with Hope in the Future (Psalm 85:8-13) • We desperately Seek God in His Word (v 8) • We reverently Fear God in His Salvation (v. 9) • We hopefully Desire God in His Goodness (vv. 10-13) True Revival often Biblically and Historically includes: 1. Recovery of Scripture and the gospel 2. Restoration of prayer 3. Repentance from sin 4. Return to holiness 5. Renewal of joy 6. Reestablishment of family religion 7. Redemption of the church 8.
