The Curse of Cholul: Where Wailing Silences the Night
from Historias, pesadillas urbanas de Terror
In the heart of Yucatán, where history is intertwined with mystery and the shadow of the past is cast over the present, stands the Hacienda de Cholul, a monument to ambition, betrayal and pain. Its walls, eaten away by time and weeds, hold terrible secrets, echoes of a tragic past that refuse to be silenced. Legend has it that at the beginning of the 20th century, a cruel and ruthless landowner ruled Cholul with an iron fist. He exploited his workers mercilessly, paid them a pittance and treated them like slaves. His greed was insatiable, and his heart as cold as the stones of the hacienda. One day, fed up with the abuses, the workers rebelled. They waited for the haciendado to return from one of his trips and attacked him with fury, beating him unconscious. Believing him to be dead, they tried to strip him of his belongings, but when they tore his shirt, they discovered to their horror that the man had a tail, similar to that of a demon. Terrified, they fled the hacienda, leaving the badly wounded man to his fate.
