You're listening to RadioCSW, CSW's official online radio station, online at radiocsw.blogspot.com. Up next, by now, what's happening at CSW and around the world, with the daily, coming up next, on RadioCSW. Welcome listeners, you're listening to RadioCSW Day 3. Join us for news, weather, lunch menus, shoutouts, birthdays, announcements and more, coming up right now, on the daily.
Happy Friday CSW, welcome back to the daily. I apologize in advance for the use of this low-quality mic on my computer. I'm currently at a lack of my regular Zoom microphone. In future episodes, you'll hear better quality audio as well as a better quality voice, because I currently have a cold and my stutter is coming back.
So again, I apologize in advance for what may come next. Now on to the daily. In world news, hackers recently tried to hack the well-known social media app Snapchat in an effort to hold everyone's pride hostage. They threatened to release embarrassing photos of users in return for money.
When the authorities did not respond, they released the photos online. This recent security breach in social networking has brought up, once again, issues of internet privacy. I believe the mod 1 media literacy library class talked about this issue for a while. If you'd like to continue the discussion about this, I recommend you talk tomorrow in the library.
You'll be able to spark a nice dialogue over this. Any bullet news? As more reports of Americans being infected by Ebola grow, tensions for the authorities continue to hang, especially in the airline industry. Fear spreading the virus to other states' script authorities, and in a recent decision made by some airline companies, some have decided to put those who have been working with the virus in both containment and research on the No Fly List.
More on the story as it develops. In tech news, Apple is creating the next big popular tech hype with the new release of their new iPad Air 2 yesterday. The news presented alongside the new iMac apparently shows the iPad would be much slimmer, close and informed to the new iPhones. Entertainment News, the entertainment world, more today as yesterday's news of Elizabeth Pangia's death takes the Phantom Modern Family by surprise, Pangia, who was 55, died of natural crisis after a short battle with illness.
As you all know, Halloween is coming up according to all the candy slash costume-dependent industries, yet even before we were all aware it was October for some reason. A new Halloween controversy has popped up over any Ebola Halloween costume. Yes, an Ebola-based Halloween costume. Just leave it over for a second.
Continuing. Something gets funny, but mostly it's horrendous and too scary given the circumstances of the current epidemic spreading in West Africa and the fear of spreading even faster. And the fear, which is spreading even faster here in America, sorry, wrong wording. Even though it's too close to being a zombie to evade the cliché of being a zombie.
I need to work on my writing, I'm sorry. Now for CSW News. Recently, Michael Goodnell and Max Pratt were named Commented Scholars in the 2015 National American Scholarship Program. Congratulations to them.
In other news, Parent Visiting Days coming up. For those who don't know, Parent Visiting Days when your parents get to come to school and experience a day at CSW. After attending a special assembly, they'll sit in on your classes and meet with their teachers. I believe it's coming up next Friday, I think, correct me if I'm wrong or mistaken.
You know my email. J Holtzman J-H-O-L-T-Z-M-A-N at CSW.org. Now for Sports News. The CSW field hockey team played another game in their winning streak this Friday, after over 10th defeating Dana Hall School in overtime by score of 2-1.
My bar scored the first half and the defense led by Emma Roshone in her finest effort today, allowed only one goal for the remainder of the game. That game provided amazing support as well. As well as Marty Warren, who proved to be a versatile player according to Arlo, switching from offense to defense mid-game and proving clearances that reached midfield at times. Not being a sports fan, I don't know what half those words mean.
In a 10 minute overtime, I had to see the game, but I scored her a second of the contest to bring home the CSW victory. This was the year's first overtime game and probably not that with a good fight. Good going CSW. Sports News is coming next week.
I hope to be more prompt with these reports. I in fact had another report on sports I want to do today, but I was getting two conflicting sources on one thing. That specific report will be broadcasted next week at some point. Two hours for my industry community.
First, the fall production, the insect play, for short, has a lot of other names. It will be put on the 23rd through the 25th. It looks like it will be a lot of fun, trust me, it really does. Second, the newest installation at the Garthway is Kiss the Ground, a sculpture exhibit with a very interesting story behind it.
Go see it before it's taking down. I'm not sure when it will be, but I'll have a short to tip in on soon, so, uh, listening. Yesterday there were three birthdays in the community. If you'd like me to announce a friend's birthday on the show, please email me at jhaltzmond2016.org or at RadioCSWStudio.org.
That's RadioCSWStudio.org. No, no shout outs are announced for today. It's the same deal with the birthdays. If you want to, if you want to, basically be on the show, email me if you're interested.
Now, for lunch today, it looks like we're having a seafood gumbo with Cajun rice and veggies topped off with a raspberry chocolate cake. French onion soup and seafood chowder will be in the soup bar and a chow mein with sweet Thai chili at the faux bar. For dinner, it looks like it's Fun Food Night again accompanied by a baked chicken, winged bar and mac and cheese. The weather for today looks warm at the highest 72 degrees.
