Walk it in purpose, I'll bless it, I'll say it first I try to go for the lovers of papers You show me love that but never waste But no one can give me the food that you cater Try to confess and regret it later I'll focus on what you want, you'll be able to show like no What's going on, y'all? We back at it again Your boy, Tice? And this is the Daily Walk podcast with... Scholar Justice, oh sound you just told me JT to be exact Let's get into it Hey, let's talk with the Daily Walk Hey, well time now, see y'all first week of school, how you feeling?
How are you feeling? We got the first week done, man, that's crazy That's crazy, hey, this the second Season, last day Oh, my boy Now this is the second last first day that we're gonna have That man sounds like he's speaking gibberish Sounds like I'm speaking imperable God bless, stuff real When you're away from it, stepping on that podium and saying Oh, not podium, but stage Stepping on that stage, grabbing my diploma, not diploma Yeah, diploma You grabbed me on the diploma, what else you gonna grab? I thought that was only in high school, I snake correctly Yeah, now it's two years, actually two years, you wanna go back That's a degree though, isn't it? Yeah, it's a degree That's not the diploma, I thought that was in high school The degree, the paper is gonna have The degree, but I'm not playing with you I thought about sound though, even on the track But anyways, like you said, season two, you back here, the Daily Walk podcast And so, episode, numero And before we get started, you know, I actually wanna mention something Like we try to, you know, try something new this year You wanna expand on that justice?
Yeah, so basically this year, right We realized that I was making the episodes last year, like Okay, we're making talks, we're making things about important things that, you know, most people don't really talk about in the church in the value of Christ But then you said, hmm, like, we never really explain what the title of our podcast really even means, right? We said all this on the Daily Walk, right? We probably even got a trademark, but like, the Daily Walk, like, what is that really entail? And so I was doing some research, right?
And so, um, here's what the conclusion I came to, right? And this is for, this is research done for Americans, living in America And so, the rough estimate, average, of the number of steps that people take a day is about 3,000 or 4,000 steps a day Which is about 1.5 to 2 miles a day And so, the crazy thing is that the average number of steps to remain active in your life is 10,000 steps So you take 6,000 less steps, the average Americans take 6,000 less steps, um, to remain active than it, like, in your, throughout your entire life And so, it's just crazy to see how, when you're taking these steps every single day, like, nobody's thinking like, oh, this is step 3,466, like, no, like, but it's crazy how even, you know, uh, data analysis shows that that's how many steps you take a day And it takes 10,000 steps to stay active That's just to stay active, meaning that you don't got no icky bones when you're old Or you're not saying, like, oh, that's a charlie horse, like, you're not doing that, you know, saying you're a man of active, you know, you chill and you stretch and all that kind of stuff So the crazy thing is, right, 10,000 steps to remain active, right? What, we connected that to our podcast was with every single day you're walking, right? You're walking in class, walking to work, walking to the park, um, maybe walking to go watch a sunset You're walking somewhere, right?
And so, you don't really think about it, but each one of those steps matters, right? Every one of those steps matter And it's so natural that you never think like, I'm going to this place Like, I'm literally walking to this place, I know why he does that And so, what we try to do with this research is show that the number of steps you take a day is important And that's exactly how it is in the body of, in your walk of Christ, in your relationship with the Lord, right? Every step matters And so, some questions that we really want to answer, right, with this daily walk What is the daily walk? Is that while you're walking, right?
While you're taking your walk wherever you're going in life, wherever your destination is, right? There's three questions and there could be more things, but we're focusing on three, three questions you want to answer When you're walking, you know, and that is where are you walking? Where is your destination? Who are you walking with?
Who is accompanying you? And most importantly, why are you walking? Is it worth it? What is the purpose?
And so, with those three pernises, we're just going to hop into some scripture, hop into some personal, um, stories with us And like, just show you how the small things in life, you know, some small things in life you never really focus on are the things that You don't matter the most, it's simple steps you take a day Because you don't want to be like, dude, that's taking steps, um, man, he tripped and fall every life in a mind Your steps is important, you know what I'm saying? And so, um, yeah, with that, I guess, the important thing to address was where are we starting from? So we're talking about where we're going, who we're with, why are we walking? But even though we go before that, like, where are we starting to walk from, right?
Where is our house? Where is our home? Where are we starting from? And I think a great premise for this, um, would be in here in Lamentations Chapter 3, verses 40 to 41.
And so Lamentations is kind of Israel's lament after being like, while they're in captivity right now, um, I think they're in captivity to Babylon right now And so, um, the verse reads like this, right? Let us search out and examine our ways and turn back to the Lord Let us lift up our hearts and hands to God in heaven That is basically our premise, right? Like, we're searching out and examining our ways so we can turn back to the Lord Right, so where we're starting from is actually in a direction away from the way we should be walking We're actually walking contrary right now And so, Lamentations makes it clear that we're supposed to turn back So, where we're responding from, like the natural human, right? You go back to original sin, you go back to the sin of Adam Eve Humans are born with a sin condition, right?
We are born into a fallen world and so the destination of our walk and where we're walking is already contrary to the ways of God And so, if you want to get on the right track on life, you want to hop on the, um The eternal life board, the abundant life board that Jesus promises to all those who believe and receive him You know, the first thing to do is Lamentations makes it clear, it's turning back to the Lord Because once you turn your body, you can walk in the right direction And now you know what you're going And so, we said that direction is important and so it says, let us lift up our hearts and hands to God in heaven You know what's crazy about that? Whenever something crazy happens, right? Everybody's like begging for a miracle The one thing people do is that they literally throw their hands up to heaven Whether it's why or whether it's Oh my goodness, they put their hands in heaven Because that is our natural instinct, we're born to give God glory, you know? And yo, for real, like I've seen, I even seen in most cases where people that claim to be atheists Like something happened crazy, they are so professed to name a guy like I wouldn't say because I don't like to use an ape, the Lord's name in vain But they'll say OMG, type stuff, you know, even in a worse situation, it's like You claim to be an atheist, but you still call a name of the Lord, I find it like, you know It's just funny to me because the Lord isn't everything Your mouth, your tongue is always going to go if I got it some way Even the oceans, the cry, or praises the Lord Even the stones that have no voice give praises to the Lord And so we get the gracious privilege of being made in the image of God That's how He created man And so sin tainted that image God has this divine plan to bring us back on the way, back on the path That leads to eternal life, at least a relationship with God And actually we can experience that here on earth, but the first premise that we're going to is There's a turning back, so there's a moment in life where you're like, okay, I haven't tried to go my own way And I need to turn to the way that's going to be healthy for me People always look for peace, but for love, what's healthy, I don't want to be toxic And it's like, yeah, you don't want to be those things, but what direction are you walking in life right now?
Like where are you headed to? Because you're saying one thing when you're action, well your words, but your actions say something different And so here in the moment, just search out and examine our ways Right, think for a second, where are you heading to in life right now? You wake up every day, wake up every day, wake up towards some kind of purpose, what are you headed to right now? Is that, do you think that you're in accordance with God?
Not really in accordance with you, do you even think about what God thinks about you? Or like, you don't have all the answers to life, do you think about who might have that? And so just that basis examination of your heart, and I promise you, since eternity's written on our hearts, the answer is going to be Jesus, it's going to be God. And so there's just turning back, this is repentance And so in wanting to pursue God, that's where we got the name of the daily walk Because following God is a daily thing, it is a daily thing, right?
That decision instantaneous grace, when you believe and receive Jesus, right? Having your identity, looking around, that is instantaneous. The second you repent of your sins, that you trust in Jesus alone for your salvation, for the forgiveness of sins. That is instantaneous, you will call upon the name of the Lord, it will be saved, right?
A contrite heart, a broken spirit, the Lord loves. That's instantaneous, looking around, but we're walking in that identity. That's what we're trying to get at here, walking in that freedom. That's the abundant life, that's the only on earth.
And so think about that, think about that. Amen. Moving on, you know what I'm saying? Just listen about that, you know, where are you walking?
Who are you walking with? Why are you walking? Always keep that in your mind, you know, at the top of your list of like, really like examining life as a whole, your purpose in life. Because that will really break down like what's really causing you to backpedal for those who are believers and causing those to be more distant from God from those that are still trying to come to the faith.
You know, so that's good. And so moving on there, it's like, where are we walking to? Where are we walking? That's where we're walking.
We're walking on this day. What are we stomping on? We're walking, you know what I'm saying? We're walking to the church, you know what I'm saying?
We're walking into the ministry. We're walking to the church house. Hey, hey, hey. No, but seriously, though, like I see I've noticed a lot more like spiritual warfare once I got back on campus.
You know, notice a lot of like attacks from the enemy once I got on campus because my walk on campus is so, you know, intentional. Like I try to keep it as intentional as possible. It's between me and the Lord, like it's a relationship. Once you notice like, you notice how once you get right with the Lord, you know, working for the Lord and given honor to his name, the enemy tries to attack you in those ways.
So it's been, I wouldn't say I'm defeated because, you know, it's a part of the Christian lifestyle. But I will say that having the armor of God has really helped me, you know, protect myself from this attack from the enemy. And if dresses want to go along and, you know, break down what the armor of God really is, for those listening, I think that it'll really help, you know, bring some understanding and discernment to those who may need this help. And even with like, and going to the armor of God, right, we know that in Ephesians it talks about we don't battle flesh and blood, bring some allies, you know, things in heaven, like in high places, like these are basically right, then the naked eye usually doesn't see these things, these are things that are seen in the spirit.
And so it's crazy because what is scripture tell us in Corinthians 5, 7, right? We walk by faith and not by sight. So even the premise of this armor of God, it's not things that are by sight, it's by. And that's why it's like, if you don't, if you're not turned to the Lord, you walk in it out by faith is not possible.
And that's why like, let me taste this one point, turn your hearts back to the Lord, right? Be teachable because the Lord wants to be your father and he wants to show you the way. And he made the way through Jesus. And so while you're walking in this way, the currency is faith.
Faith is the currency. Faith is what pleases God. And so when you put on this armor of God, right, think about the battle you're facing. And I always go to Ephesians 2, right?
Ephesians 2, the verses 1 through 4 really give you a premise of the battle of what we're facing. Usually on a daily basis, right? And what Jesus has redeemed us from. So there's this battle of the devil, right?
The quote unquote God of this world, right? The world not being creation itself with the world as in just the, I wouldn't say matrix, but just the patterns of this world, right? The patterns that want chaos rather than order. The patterns that want hate rather than love.
God is a God. He's a God of lies, right? That's the devil. And so we have this battle against the devil.
We have this battle against our flesh, right? We have this battle against our flesh because Paul says what he do these things he doesn't want to do. And he doesn't want to do these things he should do, right? It's a constant battle of like, oh, should I do this?
This is one of my heart's desires. And all of the things that too, right? He gives us a new heart. And then we might have a heart of flesh, not a heart of stone, like Pharaoh.
And we have this last battle with the world, right? The patterns of the world, right? Society is doing this. And so now you want to people please and now you want to go with society or not.
You want to know I'm saying, bend over and do what society does. So we have this constant battles three way battle. And so keeping that in mind, we look at the armor of God, a beauty, right? A beauty, right?
And I'll even go to scripture. I'll read straight out of here for you guys because it's beautiful, right? And the reason why I brought up also Ephesians 3, because Ephesians 3, Ephesians 6 on the same book of the Bible. And so it makes sense to know, you know, just when you don't just want to read things in a context, Ephesians 6 comes after Ephesians 2 where it talks about this battle and what Jesus did, how he's our peace and what it means to walk and what he's done.
And so Ephesians 6, it's all suffered this with the armor of God. It says, this verse 13, Ephesians 6, therefore take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand in the evil day and having them all to stand. Stand therefore, having good and on your waste with truth, right? The belt of truth, the first part of the belt of truth, right?
And having put on the breastplate of righteousness. Mm. Say that from me, say that from me, times man. The what?
The breastplate of righteousness. Righteousness. And having showed your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace, if you have the gospel of boots of the gospel of peace and above all the shield of faith, right? Which you will be able to quench all the fiery darks of the wicked one and take on the helmet of salvation.
Can I get a helmet of salvation real quick? Helmet of salvation. Beautiful. And the sword of the spirit, these are both like, these are congruent, I was like a guru.
They come as a package, right? The sword of the spirit. The sword of the spirit. Which is the word of God.
Praying always with all praise and suffocation of the spirit. Being watchful to this end with all perseverance and suffocation of all the things, right? And so kind of just breaking out a little bit of the armor of God, right? Because this is something I have on in our daily walk.
This is something that, um, scripts your entails that it's important to keep on while we're here on this earth. Because in case you don't know, yeah. Christians and non-Christians, like we're going to go through storms of life. Jesus told the spirit about someone who's built their house on solid ground and someone who built the house on sand, right?
And storms came for both of them. So don't get it twisted. You are going to need this armor even after, right? You believe and receive Jesus even after you have your identity as a child of God, even after you've received the forgiveness of sins and our new creation in Christ.
Because of his blood, right? You life is the one fair. It's a fallen one we live in. But the thing is that Jesus cares.
It's so having this armor of God, right? The belt of truth, right? Truth. Truth.
Truth. No lies. Truth. It says the garbage between every man, a liar, right?
So having on this truth holds up, like, you know, you got to build it, it holds your pants up, right? And so I want to use this analogy of like, you can say the belt really holds up. Let's say you're up in your lower body, right? So if you're telling a lie, right?
You know it's true, but you're giving someone else a lie or telling yourself a lie. So you're kind of bent in these two directions. And so with the belt of truth, you get to stand firm and stand tall. And like, you are in one accord because without a belt, like, your pants just fall over, you got to shirt on in open hands.
Like you see what I'm saying? Like, it's not your, you're, um, it's not balanced. Yeah, it's just a good word, not balanced. You're not balanced, not that belt of truth, right?
Knowing God's word, knowing his ways, right? That truth. And so what comes next? The breast pitter righteousness.
What does scripture say above all guard your heart, above all things? For what the issues of life flow from it. And so with this breast pitter righteousness, right? Jesus is just a new heart.
But that doesn't mean that you just go around, you know what I'm saying? And just diving into anything, you know what I'm saying? Like, I'm not going to play with a little Ouija board. I'm not going to do that.
Yeah. I'm not going to do that. You know what I'm saying? You got to guard your heart too.
Right. So you got the blessed by righteousness, but you also guard your heart. Right. Even though you have the protection that Jesus Christ by his grace, it doesn't mean that the enemy is still lurking and it's still around, you know, so enemy is trying to take your soul.
And that's just the reality of it. So dipping your toe into things that are not godly. Yes, the Lord is protecting you. Yes, the Lord is with you wherever you go.
But it's not god pleasing. Therefore, it's causing you to be stagnant in your walk with Christ. So being very intentional, you know, saying like, that's that's something that I've been learning to do more in this season because it's it's perfecting me. I'm the clay and God is the part exactly.
So how can the clay be molded into what God wants you to be? How can the clay be molded into what you want it to be when you're, you know, being inconsistent with his will? Mm-hmm. You know what I'm saying?
Like, another thing is like you ask God in prayer. It's I think D one set is in a pile or interview. So you get 80% or you give God, you ask God for everything in prayer. And then you expect him to answer everything.
So why do you give 80% of what you you're doing? Like, you know what I'm saying? So it just don't make sense. Why ask God and expect everything in prayer to be 100% and you only give an 80% of yourself to the Lord, you know, just like the balancing of the truth.
You want it to be a balance. You want it to be something that, you know, is proving to be true through your fruits. So I encourage you, I encourage you all listeners to be a little bit more intentional in your walk and you know, just see how much, how much favor you have after that, how much improvement you see in your spiritual walk. And I mean, like it's so important to even consider these things because, you know, the world is coming into a world where it's like be very open minded, open minded, open minded, open minded.
I promise you go to any college campus and you say, oh, let's do guidelines for a classroom. You know, open mind is the first thing we do. I'm not hating, there's no hate for that. But it's what the world means by open minded now.
It means accept this new doctrine. Come to agreement with this new thing, right? Rather than before, but mine was just like, you don't have to accept it, but you can consider it. That's all that's like, I'm mind considerate, right?
And so what's important about having the blood of truth and the best of the righteousness, that covers your heart is that you can consider things and still say no. That is the power of righteousness. You are right with God because of Jesus, right? And that breastplate that is Jesus that is conguarding you with his faithfulness, right?
Because you know that favorite follows faithfulness. Great. Those faithfulness. Notice song greatest life faithfulness.
Great. Oh, no, that's not the one. That's not the one. Give me a second.
It's just a hymnal. You know what I'm saying? I'm a little smooth when it's that but I'm not going to sing too much. But great.
No, it's like a song. I encourage you to listen to that one too. Greatest life faithfulness. Because glorifying God and all these things, that's really the, that's part of the walk.
It's one of the features of the walk that is a key role in the Christians like praising God. And praising God isn't, it shouldn't just stop at praising God. You know what I'm saying? It should be devotion to God too.
You know that quiet place where you can be, you know, I've seen this post, it's a ministry if you, if you're not in a quiet place and praising Lord, getting to know the Lord ministry, it's not about God. It's about you and your acts. And so they'll take in time for God. And I believe you said about it last week, you know what I'm saying?
You can't spend five minutes with God, but you expect to spend eternity with him. And so. Give us one more time. Give us one more time.
You can't spend five minutes with God. Here on earth. But you expect to spend eternity in heaven with him? You think that you could last out?
Like you know what I'm saying? That makes sense. Does that makes sense? Because we need to make it make sense.
Like my boy, Brian T said, if you have this album, Save and Surrender by Brian T, I've been bumping that since the summer. It is amazing. Yeah, that song can make it make sense. You know, and that's just one of the things is like, like one of the things, of course, is like, make it make sense, make it make sense.
And here's an example. It's like Jesus turned water to wine. It's not the reason you get bent. You know what I'm saying?
So it's just like considering some of the things, man. It's like, considering why you do the same things we even do offer premise. Is it off selfish game? Is that the main goal here?
Or is it just, you know, you see the glory of God and you're, you know, you see his power and you're, you know, moved and praise him for it. You know what I'm saying? It's a difference between being grateful and, you know, thankful for him. And it's another thing to be like, oh, what can I get out of this situation?
So it's like a thin line between that. And I hope that, you know, listeners and us too, a little bit more, um, able to discern which one is what we're doing in life, you know, because you shouldn't only discern things out of your way. You should discern things in yourself as well. Like you should be able to discern when things you're doing isn't according to the Lord's will.
Can I get any amount for that? Because everybody wants to call something out, right? But when you look at the man in the mirror, you don't want to sing on to yourself. So that's so important.
Like you, you see, you start noticing like a pattern. It could be something as small as like, uh, getting up late every day, you know, saying like, if you're not able to notice that and change from it and be a little bit more punctual with your time, then you're going to see the results of that. You're going to be more, um, subjectible to being, uh, missing classes because it's hard for me in later class and I'm not going to class. And then it goes from not going to class to, you know, uh, failing a class.
So that's just the, you know, extreme part of it. But I'm just saying like being a little bit more able to discern what's causing you to do certain things. What's, you know, the three questions where you're walking, who are you walking and why are you walking? Like those three questions will help you identify what, what is inconsistency in my spiritual walk and how can I make it right by the power of Jesus Christ?
And because he's the one that's going to change you know, if you, if you allow him to, he can change you if you allow him to, right? So new heart, new desires. It is real. Don't let anyone tell you that, um, the power of Jesus is not real.
It is real. It is evidence. People literally wish to release things on her. Like you look up the famous quotes of people who were about to pass away, right?
Who feel like they finished their walk. Right? They finished his walk with life. But it was, whether it was or wasn't with God, they finished their walk.
I promise you look up a, um, um, Roosevelt, like famous Albert Einstein, famous people like that on their dying bed. I promise they will tell you at the end of this walk that they walked on earth. I should have learned more about God. They were saying maybe there's something about judgment.
I couldn't learn more. They were literally saying maybe I should have considered if there was a God. These are people saying it's on her dying bed famous people who, who people use for theorems and for math. And these are people who are famous people look up to for being so smart.
Look at, I promise you look at their last words and they're even crying out to God, just like in limitations. They're lifting up their hands to God. They even know that there's a God in heaven. But here's the thing.
We don't know when our last breath is going to be. And so that's why you have to consider where are you walking to? Who are you walking with? And why are you even on this walk?
And that has to be today. You know what I'm saying? It can't be tomorrow. It can't be.
Oh, no, that's to be today. Because I promise you, if you hold it off, but you will not do it. Like you ever told someone, you know what I'm saying? I said something like prayer, right?
I'm a prayer for you. You come see that person the next day and then you ask them, you pray for me? Nah, I forgot. That's another thing I noticed in a Christian community.
That could be like a, what do you say? How do I say? It could be almost like a sand office thing that say to somebody, oh, I'll pray for you. But are you really praying for me?
You know what I'm saying? I'm really struggling right now. You say I pray for you to make yourself feel better. You know, new state-os words, and you really mean it.
Or just some routine type of thing you say to people to make them feel, you know what I'm saying? Or to be dismissive, like you're saying in your life. What's an example? Like someone finds out about a tragedy going through it and it's like that person says, I'm going to pray for you.
I hope you get better soon. And they're like, you trying to tell them the story and they're going to listen. And then they just end off with like, I'll pray for you. But we get off-traffed.
Yeah, we don't have to hold it. That's a whole different thing. But getting back to the armor of God, right? This third one, right?
The preparation of gospel of peace, right? Scripture makes it clear, right? And that's one of my favorite Psalms. It says, it's Psalms 119 105.
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Right? The preparation of the gospel of peace, right? Where you're walking to, what is illuminating your path?
Because Scripture makes it clear that the word is a lamp, right? And it's a light, right? And so that is what's light in your path. And so, because you don't know where you're going, if your path is already lit, you're just walking in darkness, right?
And Scripture also makes it clear that Jesus is a light, right? And when Jesus came out here on earth, he's like, Jesus is a light and the darkness has not overcome in the darkness, will not overcome light. What did the pre-majah look up to when they saw Jesus? Or what did they look up to to see that?
Yeah, they find them. Yeah, they were there on the star, right? That star. So that's a good connection to put into that too.
Like, like you said, like, I like connecting points in a while, because I believe something that connects, like, if you can go to Old Testament, Connect Scripture, New Testament, Connect Scripture, like, oh, it's like, what's the way I'm looking for it? Understanding of it is like, it's almost like infinity, in a sense. It all correlates, right? So being able to connect means it really, really does make sense.
What do you say, like, like from my path? Um, yeah, yeah, like, his word is a lamp, sorry, a lamp to our feet, a light into our path. It's like, that's what we're walking up with this boot to the gospel of peace, right? And that's why it's peace because we have God's word, we have His promises, right?
That is peace to ourselves because it's not like God of confusion, but of peace. And we get that access to His word, praise me to God, not like right now getting actively persecuted as some art in Eastern countries, right? For their faith, we have this word, we have this peace. And so that is what we're walking on, right?
We're walking on that on this path. And these, we're coming out to the, you know, the last three of the, the armor of God, and it's the shield of faith, right? The shield of faith being greeted up with the shield of faith, right? Because as we talked about before, there's still no more life going to come for all, right?
The devil is going to come for you once you have your new identity in Christ as a son or daughter of the most high. You are a target. You are a target because the devil knows, right? Listen to that song, pick it up, pick it up, pick it up.
It was called, pick it up by DJ Mike and Red Tips. Maybe having some bangers, but he was like, he said, Satan, you go to, you go into hell and you know it. And it's just like, that's his fact, right? Because saying, you know that it's the fourth quarter of his time running down, he's going to try to take anybody with him.
And what's not a better target for him than to take someone from someone who he hates. God, so why not take his children? And so we got to have the shield of faith remembering our testimony, right? Remembering where the Lord has brought us from, remembering why we're like, remembering how we go on this walk, right?
Because this common sense that, you know, that common sense, where this conviction God gives us our conscience that knows right and wrong. God made it possible for us to turn around and turn to the Lord as we talked about limitations. We're not going to learn how to turn if we didn't, if God didn't give us the understanding to know what right and wrong is, to write his law upon our hearts that we know it's bad to steal, it's bad to worry. We were not a turn.
We don't have the directions, right? Right. Alex, what you all know about them, is it the cardinal directions? Is that the north, south, east, west?
That's just the basic one. Yeah. And also like, on the, on like the life of my path or like, on the life of my feet, right. You know, you don't have directions to go.
You don't know where to go. You know, the directions and then you don't have the light to lead you to that path. So you ill-equipped and you're just pray for the enemy. And so what are you doing to, like I said, know who you're walking with, know where you're walking, know why you're walking.
Exactly. And even as we like, you know, finish off with this army of God real quick, um, it's like the helmet of salvation, right? The helmet of salvation is that hope in Jesus, that hope in Jesus, that though life might get terrible here on earth and Jesus has overcome. So of course we can overcome temptation, like it can overcome the world, but it's going to get worse.
It's going to, but what the helmet of salvation, we have this hope that, you know, suffering produces, produces, produces, produces, produces, produces, character produces hope. And so do all these serfings. We've been in this hope in Jesus that because now we've been born again, right? We have this spirit and that's that spirit is yearning.
That spirit that the Lord put in you, which is why he's jealous for you. He yearns for what's inside of you, right? God is jealous. Like if you don't know that, like if, if you do not know that today and you're listening, God is jealous for you, right?
Even more jealous for you when you have his spirit living in you. But simply because your creation needs jealous for you, right? And that hope reminds us that we need to be further clothed, right? The spirit literally, it's just like some days just like, dang, I would love to be with Jesus right now.
Like I would love to see my Savior in my arms, given the biggest hug. I just love to say I fight the fight, I finish the race and say, well, then I get, I would love that, right? And that's what I'm going to hope. That's what we put inside our minds because our minds is a battleground.
And so having our minds fixed on hope, not just positive thoughts, people just think, oh, just think positive, no, no, no, no, no, no, you can think positive and you'll situate you. You're still not going to change. Don't get it twisted, right? Right?
It's, you know, the faith in God, you know, that's what moves the hand of God, right? And so having that hope literally builds you up to withstand what's going to come here on Earth, trials and tribulations, pestilences, when you have these ups and downs in life, finances, friends, all this stuff, you remember that hope that helmet? Jesus, you went through this, you understand me, you understand me, you know, everything I'm going to do, you went to one on a worst basis, have that helmet installation, remembering that if we live to the Lord, we also die to the Lord. That's going to set a glory.
And the last part, obviously, sort of spirit, the word of God, promises of life, right? Branti said, the best, he said, these times of war, we got to remember God's promises, right? Because having an Earth pass away, but his words might not mean pass away. And so coming across, coming to the end, and also obviously, you know, verse 18, prayer, prayer, and supplication, Tysar, you touched on that.
Someone won't go too much into it, pour into prayer. And having on all this armor, right? This is just starting your walk. You know, if you don't know God equips you with armor, it's the coolest thing to ever even think about, right?
You're literally a soldier, like you are a son, a daughter, a soldier, a harbinger, and a bastard, the aroma of Christ. Somebody think God calls you, that thing in a day is just another reflection of the beauty of what it means to be his, right? And that's just the beauty of being a masterpiece of God as a fission student talks about. And so, at this armor on, that's so important, right?
So it's not about what we're walking to. The word makes it clear that his word is a lampisorphy, a light sword path. So we're walking on his path, right? Rocking his path, poor Jesus.
You know that now, right? We know that we're walking on his path, so it's free. And we're walking on his path, so he's turned on life. So who are you walking with?
Right? We talked about the armor of God. I hope you'll come to a conclusion that if I got the armor of God, then I want to walk out of the people got the armor of God too. I want to walk out of the soldiers, right?
Because the spiritual experience, it's clear that, you know, what fellowship is like, have a darkness and unbeliever with a believer, right? You ever walked across, like a walk on the sidewalk and someone's walking right past you? You two can't talk unless one of y'all stops, which means both of y'all are going to stop. So on this walk, right?
A lot of the times you want to walk with people that's going to make a stop. That's going to help us cultivate our growth in Christ. Yeah. So you're not even being nurtured no more, right?
And so you're stopping to consider what, you know what I'm saying? Another doctor in the world has brought up, right? Another misleading thing that can cause you to slum in your face, right? Because those things are coming, there's wolves and sheeps clothing.
They look like they are with you, they look like they're sheep. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, they're sheep. No, no, bro.
Some of those things are goats. Some of those things are wolves. Hey, do it again. Bro, that was accurate.
I was just like the snake fairy. Oh man, I didn't even make it. I didn't even see the lives like I'm going to stay for. I came on the last day and walk you guys though.
But can I add a little bit more like, I'd like to add more clarity on like the armor of God, because it's going to be very quick. But I feel like this would be a great staple point of like, it's not simplifying the message, but making a little bit more clear to those that may want to add more understanding. So here I go. So we faced a sharp temptation and we need a good defense system like Justice said, you know, so Paul, what he did in the scripture is he attached spiritual significance to what we call military hardware, like things we, you know, medieval times hardware.
So the better truth, you know, we need the truth about who we are. Like Justice said, and only Jesus is the truth. That's that's a three. Paul's point was that when we are attacked, look at Christ's work as your defense.
Second, the rest of the right is like we talked about. It's obedience to God, obeying his instructions to protect our hearts from being wounded by sin. The shoes of peace, it's one, one is with God, standing firm in the truth of God's will that Jesus did on our behalf. Another way to think of it is remember why Jesus died for us and the promises he had for us, which is eternal life and heaven.
Next we have, shoot of faith. You know, it's setting your faith in God's righteousness, not the circumstances you're in. In Romans 10 verse 17, it says, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God, which means you need God's word constantly to be replenished and fully functional for battle. Rooted in you.
Exactly. So the Hellman of salvation is salvation that comes from the Lord. We accept Jesus' life, death and resurrection as the payment for your sin. Salvation has also worked out through sanctification, you know, which is, you know, the process of becoming more holy, right?
Set apart from the world and live in reverence of Christ. Yes, fear of the Lord. So last but certainly not least, you know, we have the last one, the sword of the Spirit. You know what I'm saying?
That's the word of God. And Hebrew, chapter four, verse 12, it says, tell, tells us that, well, Hebrew chapter four, verse 12, living in the sword, the word of God is living in active, sharper than any double edged sword. It penetrates even to dividing soul and spirits, joints and marrow. When using God's word, we can defeat the powers of the dark world.
Always remember, always remember to be faithful and regularly turn to God in prayer. Because that, not only we have the, the armor of God, but you can talk to God, gives you direction. He leads in God too. He's that he's that light for your path, not for your feet.
Because what good is a soldier if he has no instruction? I'm gonna say that one more time. What good is a soldier if he has no instruction? He's that again, bro.
What good is a soldier without no instruction? If you don't know the officer who enlisted you, right? And so you can have the armor on. Don't get into it.
It's the armor is beautiful, right? Paul's illustration is a master. He's always going crazy in him, but it's like, yeah, that instruction, that obedience, right? Walking that out.
And so that's why I'm important to consider who you're walking with as we're going back to, right? Like what fellowship is I having with darkness? All these things, right? And I'm not saying, you know, you know, Christians can be friends with people, no, no, no, no, right?
You two people, Jesus was a friend of sinners. Right. He doesn't mean he, you know, he'd adopt the same way. Right, right, right, right.
He didn't endorse it, right? Like, yeah, no cosign only cosign a Holy Spirit in the world of his father. You think he rebuked that figure. But like, the point is that like, usually, you know, when you were friends, it's like, you know, we are not Jesus.
So we are capable of being corrupted, right? And that's why I am first green things. I think it's chapter 14 to 15 talks about how bad company corrupts good morals, right? So it's it's being vigilant.
And that's why I have this armor on, right? That the rice by the right, your stuck hearts are hearts. Because when you're walking with people, right? It seems very nice for a time, you know, it seems like, man, we are kicking it.
We've been through so much together and I'm out of nowhere. Like, dang, like, brother, don't want to see you in no more or like sister hating on you. Like, I heard people say that all the time. I thought she was a real woman, but now man, she threw me under the bus.
And the truth was you don't even know who you was walking with. You was just you had tunnel vision toward your path, right? And you didn't even look left to the right, right? Had tunnel vision towards destruction, right?
Right. And it's like, you got to know who you walking with, right? I don't know if you ever seen this, I was on the friend. If you look at what crabs do inside of a bucket, I don't know if you ever seen like live crabs.
But when a crab tries to grow, tries to get out of the bucket, I promise you, all the other crabs pull it down. It is the weirdest phenomenon, but if you see them on YouTube, the other crabs, literally if a crab's trying to make it out the bucket, let's say, trying to get out the mud as people say these days, whatever teenage days, these days, you know, kids, but you know, they're trying to get out the money, they're trying to make it, right? Other crabs pull it down. And it's like, while you on this walk, I promise you, the forces, the principalis, even people, right, will try to pull you down from making it to your destination, right?
From living in that identity, from doing what God has called you to do, for breaking down those generational curses, right? Even in the end. Being literally, sorry, I'm so sorry, for being the light of the world, right? It says Matthew 516, so let your light shine before a man that they may glorify your father and see your good works, right?
Glorify father, have a see good works, right? So it's just light that Jesus calls people to shine for him, right? To serve, right? To please God, and there's gonna be people who are gonna be not with it.
And the question is, can you notice that? Exactly. Right? Even when you're new to the faith, old friends, look at you, you ain't said, you look what you did.
You went on Christian on me. Yeah, they bring up your past, like, oh, they got videos of you doing stuff that was leading through about you. They got screenshots of messages where you're talking, wow, they got past experiences from you where you was vile towards them. They'd be like, remember when you did this, right?
You gotta keep in mind that you are free from that. Obviously, it's consequences from it, which you're facing, because it's opposition from the enemy, not the person, just the person that isn't. It's really, really, really, but that's a different topic. That's a different topic, but obviously, it's consequences from that.
But when you lay your life for Jesus, when you accept Him as your Lord and Savior, when you repent of your sins, when you get that baptism, you know what I'm saying? The sacrament, you receive the sacrament of the Lord, your sins forgiven. You are a regenerate man. You're no longer dead in your sins.
No sins are gone. You know what I'm saying? He paid the cost. The sins are gone.
Scripture says he's throwing your sins as far as from the east, from the west. You ever been to auction? Something else, something else, something else, something else, something else. Don't.
Don't. You know what I'm saying? It's gone, bro. Bro, that is a grand slam out of the park.
You'll sin is gone, bro. You know what I'm saying? You are a new creation. The oldest past the way beholden new has come, right?
So don't let, when you're on this walk, there are going to be people who are going to try to tell you that that is not you. That is not you. You just trying to act all cool, you trying to be perfect, right? You trying to be this, this is totally and holier than thou.
I'll be here in that these days. We're like, no, no, you're not Jesus. How you going? Yeah, man, man, for real.
And I, I told them this look, this is a Matthew 548 right there for me perfect. That's my father and heaven is perfect. And I'll leave you with this. I won't even get that too much.
But the spirit that's in you is going to perfect you. And so if you are starting to walk and you actually want to be obedient, you actually have heavy discernment on certain things. Yeah, convictions like you don't listen to Beyonce. I remember that was a big thing Jackie O'Pare.
Not Jackie O'Pare. Another young sister, not Yang. She's not in me. Sister in Christ online.
People are getting mad at her because if you're going to watch Beyonce, she's questioning the spirit of them. Right? Why? I don't know if you're ever seen the imagery on one of her concepts, bro.
It's literally a woman, you know what I'm saying? And you're a discretion. I'll put that out there right now. It's literally a woman, right?
And there's a tunnel going into where her middle part would be. It's like a portal? Oh, wow. There's a, you know how people come on the stage?
The tunnel she comes through is literally the middle part of a woman. So the stage is two legs. And so looking at stuff like that, you know, if people are around you walking and you're like, dang, that don't look right. But they're like, are you tweaking?
You being too spiritual. Bro, you need to allow Jesus to defend you. And he just stay up in that word. Stay prayed.
Some things you cannot co-sign seriously. No for real. Like we getting way off top of the crate. You know what I'm saying?
Man, just, you know, God love. God died for all of us. You know what I'm saying? And we don't want this out of stuff as a game, but we know we, it's a scripture that says, you know, reveal, reveal the reveal or what's the word.
Ah, I can't think of it. Dang, I can't what? You know, like some of those. Give me some of that.
You know what I'm saying? You reveal the evil? Um, there's nothing hidden that won't be revealed. There's nothing in the dark that won't be brought to life.
That's true. But it was another one that was like, um, reveal the evil scheme. There's something I have to get back to on the next podcast. But basically when I like, we can use that, you know, so when you see things going on that isn't, you know, in accordance to will, how do we know the accordance will will be because what we're with the sort of the spirit, we know the truth.
We got that better truth on. We know what's right and what's wrong. So you see stuff and you see Christians, you know, people that claim to be Christian do things like this is inconsistent with, you know, the growth and fellowship of Christ. So you have to, you know, reveal that this isn't true.
You have to debunk that logic because you don't want other people that's mutificed to think that's okay. That's okay. Okay. We can get by this.
So back to the Kray. He said, um, I can quote Cardi and still be righteous or something like that. Oh, uh, some about ratchet. Oh, yeah.
I can be ratchet and still right or something like that. Yeah, something like that. Yeah. This is wild.
Right. You know what I'm saying? So don't get me wrong, bro. Like the spirit is the spirit can get creative, right?
Because Jesus, I mean, the father is a genius creator. He's intricate. He's amazing. You think about like, um, how Jesus came on Earth spoken parables.
He used different like he was, he was coming from a different, literally, he was literally things around like he was fish. He was one. He was everything in this world like farmers. He used different things to like get the word out and he didn't say it plainly.
He said it in way. So I understand the creative mindset of Christians that want to be, you know, able to, you know, connect with the audience, but don't let that connection be misguided by your desire to fit into the world. Yeah. You want to, you want to, you want to say some crazy people be like, oh, ah, and then you realize that what you're saying and even it's not even leading people to Christ no more.
You just, it's in years, like it says in second to me. That's what people going to be doing on the last days. It's like bottom line, you like you as a person, you have to examine yourself to make sure that you're not that person on someone else's walk that's leaning someone astray. And also looking at your, and you're walking saying that that's not people who you want to be around you too.
You know what I mean? Wrong. We always stumble. But there's a difference between struggling with sin and living in it, lavishing in it, you know, because whatever like, I don't know if my mom would always tell me, you know what I'm saying?
Um, the bed that you make that bed you'll lie in, right? So whatever, like whatever thing that you're literally like, um, paying attention to all that kind of stuff, you don't lie in that bed. And so you got to make sure who you walking with. And so go into this last question.
And actually, you know, before I even finish off the who you walking with, um, just another scripture for you. This is Proverbs 13, 20, just another practical application. Walk with the wise and become wise for a companion of fools, suffers harm. And so whether that harm is, you know, you're harming yourself because you're going to the same pain that hurts you again and again.
It makes it clear that when you walk with wise counsel, when you're getting discipled, right? Fine. Fine. Those who are rooted in the truth, who have a vibrant love for Jesus, you can see it.
But not only you can see it, you can tell in a secret place that they are seeking the Lord, have those people in your life, can speak into it. That's so important. Um, because probably 628 also says, can a man walk on hot coals and his feet not be scorched? They don't think that, oh, you can just do what you want.
And then like, I'm not going to get the consequences. No, this consequences to sin. Having a condemnation is God. That's the difference in Jesus.
So remember that. And the last question is why are you walking? You know, I was like that, I think, why are you running? Why are you running?
Or that one that's like, I can't, I can't, not, not it. But it's like, why are you walking, right? And so, um, uh, I'm not going to be walking. Hey, y'all forgive me.
Go back. That's what you're saying. Let's get back on subject. Um, why are you walking, right?
Um, we're trying to talk about the beginning, right? We're walking this walk because God has given us the grace to be able to give him glory, right? He's given us new mercy to be able to glorify him. He attested me, a witness to God that, um, people can see that the Lord is alive today.
He's a risen Lord. He's, he's in the midst of your storms right now. And so Colossians one sense as walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. Why are you going to walk?
To bear fruit. Why are you going to walk? To give God glory. Why are you going to walk?
To, to, to have relationship with him. That's why you're on this walk, right? That's why you're on this walk. And so, and knowing God and making him known, we live in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him.
Do not forget you are not made to please people. If you think that that is your identity, you will fall short every single time. You will wonder why you're never enough. You will always be thinking, dang, nobody loves me.
If you always try to please people, that is not your identity. That's not what you're designed to be with. You're designed to please God. And I noticed that when I always followed others, always came in second when I followed God.
I thought you was going for this. I thought you were going to wrap it up. No, but I was like, I was like, it's just going to click real quick. I'm like, oh, he's going to say something.
But like, you know, you can't remember saying, but like, it's like, um, the reason why it's so beautiful to walk with God is that God has everybody's best interest at heart, right? Scripture makes that clear. I think it's, I know what Scripture says, but it says that the Lord is not slack, concerning us promise as some consider slackness. We know the Lord has not forgotten his promise, right?
He's not slow to it, but rather than the Lord is long stuff from his patience, not willing that anyone should perish, not any person, not the dog in the thief, not the prostitute, not the all good, not the rich, not anyone should perish, but all should come to everlasting life. That is God's plan to come to repentance. And so get this, when you are living with God, you are living with the one who has everybody's interest at heart. So if he truly wants to love people, love God.
