How dark were the Dark Ages? Were they dark for everyone, or was the darkness local to an unfortunate few? How did they break out of the darkness? And what of us? Today’s guest, Mikhaila Redovian, an expert on the period from the late Dark Ages through the Renaissance, shares her insights into the trials, tribulations, victories, and patterns of that era, and asks us to picture ourselves in those conditions. Bio: Mikhaila Redovian’s research looks at the rise of English colonialism in relation to new technologies and shipping routes in and around the 17th Century. She’s interested in how this impacted early environmental thinking and evaluations of risk and reward.
