Better yet, how often are you using these little phrases - with others or yourself??Putting rose colored lenses on during a tough time (i.e. a global pandemic, a cancelled wedding, the death of a loved one, the death of a job, etc) can be detrimental to our processing of emotions. But our emotions are incredibly informative! Which is why it’s important to recognize our participation in toxic positivity and take the steps to balancing when positivity is necessary and when it’s necessary to just sit in our feelings. If you’re guilty of participating in toxic positivity, it’s okay my friend. I know I've been guilty of it many times in my life and like many other things, it’s a daily practice!
