The Darkest Game We’ve Ever Reviewed! | Devotion Review
from Simply Nerdy Hosted by Simply Nerdy
Devotion isn’t scary because of monsters or combat—it’s terrifying because it’s real.In this Simply Nerdy review, we dive into Devotion, the psychological horror experience from Red Candle Games that explores trauma, mental health, cult influence, and the slow collapse of a family. We went in blind and came out emotionally wrecked. This game uses surreal horror imagery not for cheap scares, but to reflect grief, obsession, and devastating human choices. We discuss the game’s narrative, atmosphere, cultural context, and why Devotion feels less like a traditional video game and more like an experience you carry with you long after the credits roll. This is a spoiler discussion after scores, and we strongly recommend preparing yourself before playing.⚠️ Content warning: This game deals with heavy themes including child harm, cult behavior, and severe emotional distress. This review is based on our full playthrough, live stream experience, and post-game discussion of Devotion. #simplynerdy #simple #nerd #nerdy #simply #devotion #redcandlegames #horrorgames #psychologicalhorror #indiegames #gamingreview #storydrivengames #darknarrativesDISCORDhttps://discord.gg/FXRc6YybYyMERCHhttps://streamlabs.com/sl_id_c0621c25-2d8e-3423-8f25-1e43a0ccd929/merchPATREONhttps://www.patreon.com/SimplyNerdy
