Over the last two weeks, we have taken a deep dive into a specific point in history for the nation of Edom. The prideful choices they made as a nation led to their downfall. In the story of Edom's downfall, we see that poor choices have real-life consequences.This week, the scope of the book of Obadiah changes drastically. We've seen the results of the folly of the Edomites, but now Obadiah's prophecy includes all of humanity, bearing a dire warning.The statement "For the day of the Lord is near upon all the nations," is placed directly after the dark tale of Edom's destruction.
