“The Day of the Lord: Phase 1 - The Time of Jacob’s Trouble - Part 2”

Today we complete our study on the on the first phase of the Day of the Lord.  The details of this Biblical teaching are profound and reveal God’s plan for his people Israel and through their national salvation, Gentiles (even nations) as well.  When this time, called “the Time of Jacob’s Trouble” in Jer. 30:7, has come to its appointed end, “all Israel shall be saved” (Rom. 11:25-26) when our Lord Jesus Christ returns to this earth. Today we look again at the detailed revelation concerning that seven year period continuing where we left off last week.  God’s elective purpose is the salvation of a remnant and through their appointed suffering, Israel will as a nation be saved. They will then be prepared for his coming and the establishing of the 1000 year Kingdom here on this earth in fulfilling the covenants and promises given to them from Abraham’s day onwards. The theme of it all is “first the suffering and then the glory” (Lk. 24:26), and the details of Satan’s work as the power behind the False Prophet and the Beast and the eventual Mark of the Beast required of all, are most profound.  Only the elect will withstand the temptation of the Mark and those only whose names are written in the Book of Life will be saved.
