Dispensational Contrasts - Part 2”

The teaching today continues with laying a proper foundation for understanding of the differences between the Tribulation and the dispensation of the grace of God.  The two are quite distinctive in so many ways because the working of God during those two periods are so different.  Last time we looked at Matt. 24 & 25.  Today we will examine Paul’s teaching in 1 & 2 Thessalonians.  The one was about the Tribulation working of God; the other is about the working of God during the current dispensation.  Our outline is this: Paul’s Dispensational Interpretation: Concerning the Times & the Seasons (1 Thess. 4 & 5);  Concerning the Satanic “Apocalypse” (2 Thess. 2).  In both cases the apostle of the Gentiles contrasts greatly these two workings of God and in them lays a foundation for the encouragement of believers living under grace as opposed to living under the preaching of the gospel of the kingdom.  “Comfort” is the word of his encouragement for believers today.  That is not the case in our Lord’s teachings of his disciples in Matthew’s gospel where the theme is necessary preparations for the time of great trial ahead and the necessity of absolute obedience.
