“The Day of the Lord - Phase 3 - The Millennial Kingdom - Christ, the Priest - Part 2"

We continue our the Biblical teaching on the third phase of the Day of the Lord, the 1000 year Millennial Kingdom.  Today and in our next study we will look further into the clear revelation that in the Kingdom (and also, even earlier, in the Tribulation period) there will be a reestablishment of a sacrificial system in Israel.  The meaning and intent of these continuing blood sacrifices far after the “one sacrifice” of Christ on the cross of Calvary seems so impossible to us “grace” believers.  But that these sacrifices will be a significant part of the Kingdom worship is clear to anyone who who believes in “literal” Biblical interpretation.  We shall see even more evidence from the Old Testament supporting this in this lesson.  The more difficult issue of their meaning is made more challenging by verses such as Ez. 45:15, 17 & 20 which clearly are referring to the Millennial sacrifices.  What we see there is that their purpose is more than a “remembrance” looking back to the work of Christ on Calvary for the word for Levitical “covering” or “atonement” is used there.  Most essential for our understanding is that these sacrifices will in some way provide, as the KJV states, both “atonement” and “reconciliation” for those participating in them. Our lesson today will provide a foundation for understanding better what the full significance of these sacrifices will be and our next lesson will finish up this portion of our studies on the Kingdom.
