The Days of Noah (Genesis 5-9)
from CV Community Church · host CVCC Media
At the time of Noah, there was violence all over the Earth. The intention of the human heart was evil continually, and God was grieved, even regretted that He had made mankind because of the great evil that was all over the world. So, God, as divine judge, decides that He would put a stop to it. He picks one family of all the families of the world to save and bring to the other end of that judgment, and that is Noah and his family. He chose Noah because he was a faithful and upright man of integrity who walked faithfully with God, the only one it seems. So, God commissions him to build an ark, and as the story goes, he makes it through the flood, the rest was swept away. As he and his family hop off the ark, Noah soon finds himself in trouble, getting shamefully drunk and being naked before his sons. And we see that sin has followed Noah and his family off the ark and still continues to this day. By this, we understand that even the righteous Noah needed a saviour, and that saviour is Jesus. In today’s sermon, we look at how having intimate relational faith with God is something that is necessary for us to be saved and to properly hold on to Jesus while all the time knowing that it is by God’s love and His forgiveness that we too will pass through the final judgment and into heaven to be with Him in love forever.
