The theory of evolution claims that life in all its astonishing and beautiful variety needs no God or Creator or Designer at all. Just start with a single, simple microorganism (though ignore where it came from!), and over 3 to 4 billion years, blind chance and mindless natural forces are supposedly able to turn it into every living thing we see around us, including mankind.
