The Deva in Gurudeva

In this class, Rasikananda Swami (affectionately known as Rasik Maharaja) offers a deeply devotional exploration of where Krishna can be found and how He becomes accessible through the mercy of Sri Guru and the association of pure devotees. Drawing from the Bhagavad Gita, Srimad Bhagavatam, the Upanishads, and the teachings and pastimes of the Gaudiya Vaishnava acharyas, Rasik Maharaja explains that Krishna is present in His holy name, His sacred scriptures, His deity form, Vrindavan Dham, and—most intimately—in the heart of the genuine sadhu. He emphasizes the essential relationship between the Grantha Bhagavat and the Bhakta Bhagavat, showing how the realized devotee unlocks the inner meaning of scripture and awakens one-pointed devotion to one’s Ishtadeva. Through discussions of Srila Prabhupada, Srila Narayana Goswami Maharaja, Sri Nityananda Prabhu, and Srimati Radhika as the supreme embodiment and giver of divine love, the class reveals that Krishna’s mercy is received by honoring Guru, serving the Vaishnavas, and taking shelter of His internal spiritual potency. Rasik Maharaja also distinguishes respectful worship of the devatas from exclusive surrender to Sri Krishna, guiding listeners toward the central conclusion of Sanatana Dharma: that all spiritual power originates in the Supreme Personality of Godhead and that loving devotion to Radha and Krishna is the soul’s highest aspiration.
