The Devil's Backbone

It's a new month and that means a new LIMITED series on TCR. For the month of August the Nobodies are dipping into the wonderful wide world of International horror films in a series titled RANT Around the World. They kick off this trip around the globe with a little film by visionary director Guillermo del Toro, The Devil's Backbone. Set during the Spanish Civil War, a home for orphaned boys is plagued by a ghost the children call "the one who sighs." Newcomer Carlos must win over Jaime and the rest of the boys and uncover the secret of "the one who sighs." Meanwhile Jacinto, a young man raised at the home since he was a boy, has his eyes set on a stash of secret gold, and will stop at nothing to get it.
