The Difference 2 | A CALL TO INTIMACY

The call to holiness is a call to intimacy with a Holy God. Intimacy involves a challenge: to 'forsake all others' and turn away from everything that we use to ease our pain, to distract us, to give us perceived value in other peoples' opinions. All these things ultimately divert us away from intimacy with God; they are what the bible calls 'idols'. Dennis presents the way in which we have intimacy with God is through confession and repentance. God is calling us to turn away from every idol that we look to for comfort and turn towards His refuge and healing, allowing Him to perfect His beautiful image within us.
