On February 24, 1978, five friends with disabilities attended a basketball game in Chico, California. They never came home. Days later, their car was found abandoned on a remote mountain road, 70 miles off course . When the snow melted, four bodies were discovered near a Forest Service trailer, miles from the car, all dead from hypothermia or starvation. One man, Ted Weiher, had survived for up to three months inside the trailer, yet never used the food, fuel, or warm clothes stored there. The fifth man, Gary Mathias, has never been found. This is the story of the Yuba County Five, one of America's most disturbing unsolved mysteries .
