The Dive: Hope after a "hopeless" mental health diagnosis

In this episode of The Dive, Daily Press Reporter Clara speaks to the remarkable mother son duo Garrett Shaw and Cynthia Sirota about how they worked as a team to overcome 26 hospitalizations and a “helpless” mental illness diagnosis of Schizophrenia and Bipolar disorder. Now they both help run support groups and teach classes at the West LA chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI WLA) and have dedicated their lives to helping other individuals and families battling mental illness.
