THE DIVERGENT SERIES: ALLEGIANT (2016) Movie Reaction! | First Time Watch | First Time Watch

The CinePals team is back as Jaby Koay and Michael Boose sit down for a full movie reaction to The Divergent Series: Allegiant, the action-packed third installment in the massive dystopian sci-fi franchise. In this chapter, Tris and Four must venture beyond the walled ruins of a futuristic, fractured Chicago for the very first time, discovering a shocking new reality run by a mysterious agency called the Bureau of Genetic Welfare that threatens the fate of all humanity. Watch as Jaby and Michael break down the heavy CGI action sequences, the sharp narrative pivot from the first two films, the character arcs of Tris and Four, and whether this controversial penultimate chapter holds up for first-time viewers and die-hard fans of young adult dystopian cinema. This sci-fi blockbuster was directed by Robert Schwentke (Flightplan, RED, R.I.P.D., The Time Traveler's Wife) and features an ensemble cast led by Shailene Woodley (The Fault in Our Stars, Big Little Lies, The Descendants, Divergent), Theo James (The White Lotus, The Gentlemen, Underworld: Awakening, Castlevania), Jeff Daniels (The Newsroom, Dumb and Dumber, The Martian, Speed, Looper), Miles Teller (Top Gun: Maverick, Whiplash, Fantastic Four, War Dogs, The Offer), Ansel Elgort (Baby Driver, The Fault in Our Stars, West Side Story, The Goldfinch), and Zoe Kravitz (The Batman, Mad Max: Fury Road, Big Little Lies, X-Men: First Class).
