The Donner Party

In May of 1846, a group of 80-something pioneers set out for California and a new start. The problem is, some con man with an agenda had convinced these folks that he had a shortcut. Along with pretty much every other mishap that you can imagine, this shortcut ended up costing almost half the members of the infamous Donner party their lives.
