The Door in the Floor of the Martin House
from Letters to the Night Desk — Fexingo Horror · host Fexingo
October 1994, a farmhouse outside Mercer, Pennsylvania. Luna's friend Cora inherits a house from a grandmother she barely knew—a woman who stopped speaking thirty years ago and spent her final months nailing every room's floorboards to the joists. The nails are all on the outside of the rooms, driven in from the hallway. And in the kitchen pantry, beneath a rusted hasp and a padlock that Cora had to cut off, there is a door set flush into the floor. Not a root cellar, not a crawlspace—the frame is too finished, the hinges too deliberate. Cora calls Luna after she opens it and sees the first step going down. By the time Luna arrives, the house is silent and the door is still open. Something came up. Something that was not Cora. #LettersToTheNightDesk #HorrorPodcast #FexingoHorror #FarmhouseHorror #MercerPennsylvania #PantryDoor #FloorDoor #Cora #Grandmother #Inheritance #Silence #WhatCameUp #NailedFloorboards #October1994 #ProlongedSilence #AtmosphericHorror #SlowBurn #UnresolvedEnding Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
