The target, however, was the 'Israelite School of Universal and Practical Knowledge', a faction linked to the Black Hebrew Israelites and recognized as "extreme and antisemitic" by the Anti-Defamation League and labeled a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. This act of aggression was motivated by Almaghtheh's reaction to news coverage of the Israel-Hamas war. She admitted to police that she acted out of anger, influenced by her perceived connection of the building to Israel due to symbols and signage, including a Star of David-like emblem and the term "Hebrew Israelite." At the time of the incident, the building housed several adults and children, amplifying the potential for harm.
