Petunia would see Harry and dislike what he represents: her family and her denial from Hogwarts. But she might grow to like him as he grows up, then hates him again as he becomes more like James. Vernon would follow her lead and dislike Harry as a baby, but would see the person behind that and like him in the end. But he would still seem cruel because he doesn’t want to let those feelings out. Dudley sees Harry as competition from the beginning so he hates him, but begins to see Harry as an equal.·      24:15 This is a relationship for a more mature audience. The first films were for kids, so the Dursleys were seen as the mean family who made Harry’s life terrible.
