The Eagles Season Is Almost Here! (PST Episode 523)
from The Philadelphia Sports Table | Philly Sports News & Views · host The Philadelphia Sports Table
The Philadelphia Eagles 2023 season is almost upon us as players report to Training Camp in just a couple weeks. It’s hard to believe we’ll have football back in our lives before we know it. Of course, there are some changes to this Eagles team, yet some things will remain the same. Vince Quinn from the “Bell and the Birdmen” podcast joined us for a great discussion about what this coming Birds season will bring to us fans and the team who is looking to get back to the Super Bowl. It was a fun discussion! But first, we dove into some MLB and Phillies talk. Should there be a “Legends Home Run Derby?” Plus, some thoughts on what we need to see from the Phillies during the second half of the season. (approx. 6:05)We then discussed the contract extension given to the Philadelphia Union’s head coach Jim Curtin. (approx. 20:05)From there, we talked about the Flyers giving a contract extension to Noah Cates, and how they’re showing Tony D’Angelo the door. (approx. 27:40)After that, we got a little down talking about the direction of the 76ers this offseason, the signing of two more bigs, Joel Embiid’s recent comments, and the James Harden saga. (approx. 35:00)What we threw down on the Table this week was a great and in-depth discussion with Vince Quinn from the “Bell and the Birdmen” podcast about this upcoming Eagles season. Why has it been such a quiet offseason? How it took some time for the Eagles front office to view Jalen Hurts as a winner. What should happen with the starting right guard position on the offense line? All of this and much more this week on the Table!
