The Economy in Trucking. A year ago, small trucking companies were begging to buy trucks. The demand was so high, the dealerships were marking up semi's $30,000 to $40,000. It was disgusting but if you wanted a truck, you were going to pay. Troy was constantly saying, wait till the economy flips and you will see allot of repo's. Truckers came back to work and brokers were no longer desperate to get their freight hauled.
