His responsibilities include developing new lines of business to serve the entrepreneurial community and overseeing the events and content that makeup the Inc. ecosystem. Also, brokered corporate partnerships, now worth billions. Just like what most of the businesses do during this world crisis, Scott’s team also did remote work. They’ve struggled at first as doing events is a big part of their business. But they embraced the situation and figured out how to produce products remotely, and makeup revenue. This challenging year left Scott optimistic. Despite all the conflict, he is still quite positive about human nature in general. He suggests that businesses should be innovating to not be left behind and never be obsolete. Therefore, business owners should change their business over time, and adapt to the new trend just like what the Inc. company did that primarily supports entrepreneurship. Relative to this, make time to tease apart your revenue to make sure you’re always planning for the future so that you don’t end up in the swamp. Listening to, and intuitive understanding of your customers, clients, consumers, and the community is key. Also, engaging with them empathetically is an important thing. For Scott, it’s not just about making money, it’s about carving time out to have a relationship with your time, carving time out for yourself.
