The Edmonton Oilers lose Connor McDavid + Jason Demers

The Edmonton Oilers battled hard against the league-leading Winnipeg Jets but ultimately fell 3-2 in overtime at Rogers Place. It was a breakout night for Jeff Skinner, as he buried two goals while skating on the top line with Connor McDavid. The game had a playoff-like intensity, with two high-powered teams trading chances all game long.Unfortunately, the biggest storyline of the night was McDavid’s injury. He left late in the second period with a lower-body injury and did not return, leaving Oilers fans holding their breath.
