The Elon effect in Wisconsin's election, plus UW-L's Chergosky goes international
from WIZM - La Crosse Talk Interviews · host WIZM News Staff
We review turnout in local elections with UW-La Crosse political scientist, Dr. Anthony Chergosky, on WIZM's La Crosse Talk, plus the Elon effect in Wisconsin's elections and the professor's going international after the $100 million state Supreme Court election. We began the show there, with Chergosky becoming an international media mogul. Not only was he asked to come on CNN and Bloomberg TV, but also the Denmark newspaper Politiken, needed his take on Elon Musk and the Wisconsin Supreme Court race. Chergosky talks about the difficulties trying to explain, for starters, a state supreme court to another country, plus why it was getting so much attention. After that, we broke down turnout in the La Crosse elections and the effect the supreme court race has had on the past two local elections — where four years ago, turnout was significantly worse for La Crosse mayor. After that, we hit on Republican candidate Brad Schimel’s concession speech in the race, and how even just going out with dignity is somehow perceived abnormal in today’s politics. Lastly, we discussed the effect Elon Musk played in the race. Did he lose it for Schimel? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
