The Emotional Discount Game

When we want what we want, many people do what they must do, to get it, even if it means cutting corners.  As human beings the desire to have a specific experience within a relationship, with people, places and things creates an interesting dynamic for playing “the discount game.”  If you’ve ever felt that you have been taken for granted, you’ve experienced being discounted.  If you’ve used someone for your own agenda at their expense, you’ve discounted that person.  And if you go back and forth doing the above, you’ve entered into “the discount game.” There is nothing wrong with cutting people a little slack sometimes.  We all need it and we all can give it.  However, discounting is totally different and the ramifications are nothing short of disastrous.  It creates a silent chaos within that erupts into a towering uncontrollable volcano.  Like I said the ramifications are disastrous.
