Way to go, Michael. Start the podcast and start talking. Then noticing that you haven't potted up the microphone. Hi, everybody.
Welcome to Friday. Let's start today. I apologize. It's just been a week.
It is just been a week. Let's talk about emotions, shall we? This. Well, this is the daily grateful with Michael Croce.
And I didn't mean to push that button. But I'm not going to get it. We're just going to go. How are you feeling?
You feeling good? You know, I went to a meeting tonight. Yeah, it's Friday night. I hadn't recorded the podcast yet because I had to be in Tampa very early this morning.
And I was going to record this morning. And I had I overslept a little bit and I had to go to Tampa and I just got back. I went to a meeting. I belong to a group.
It's a group of men. I call it it. It has a name. I'm not going to tell you the name, but I have a name for it.
I call it the Secret Men's Club because it's all about men and relationships and, you know, dealing with your your opposite sex or same sex partner, whatever it is. We all get together and everything that's set in the room is absolutely secret unless you have a podcast where you talk about stuff like that. Oh, and I guess what I do. So I guess everything isn't secret.
But anyway, the gentleman who runs the meeting, he said to me, he said, Michael, I said, yes. He said, what are you feeling right now? What are you feeling right now? And I said anxiety.
I'm feeling anxiety. I got a lot of stuff going on. You know, my son and his girlfriend just moved into my house. All of that's good.
All that's positive. There was, you know, we're still having to work out a few strategic things, but all in all, I'm thinking it's like one of the best things that's happened. But in addition to that, I've got relatives. I've got a brother who is in very, very, very, very, very, very bad shape right now.
And I'm very anxious about that. So I said, I'm feeling anxious. And he said, are you embarrassed? I said, no, but I'm anxious.
And he said, Oh, and then he whips out this little piece of paper that I have right here in my hand in my formerly clordane stained hand. When you look at feeling anxious, which I am, it takes us down to where it says it's the heart of the problem, the absolute heart of the problem is that I'm scared. When he said that, it didn't make sense to me. But then when I sat there and I thought about it, and we discussed it a little bit, it made all the sense in the world.
Yes, I have, I'm anxious right now. Okay, I'm very anxious. And I'm very scared. What are you scared of, Michael?
I, in my case, I'm scared of, well, I'm scared of what's going on with my brother. And it's all unknown. And it's, he's my older brother. He's the only one left in the family besides me, you know, talking about our core family, my mom, my dad, my sister, they're all gone.
So it's just me and my brother. So yeah, I'm scared. He asked another gentleman that was in our, that was in our room. How are you feeling?
And by the way, we all have made up names. We don't use our real names in there. I'll tell you my name, I'm not gonna tell anybody else's name. My name is Garden Geek, because I used to have a radio show and a podcast called Ask the Garden Geek.
So I just became Garden Geek, but now they just call me G.G, which is weird. But anyway, this other gentleman who is a public speaker and, and what are, what are your feelings right now? And he says, I have a feeling of content right now, because he had accomplished a lot of the goals that he'd set out to accomplish. And so he had a feeling of content.
Well, then according to this chart, according to this chart, I, by the way, have no idea who made it, but it looks really gritty. It's all these colors and everything. And you know, it's just, it's just really, really, really there. It says that he's peaceful.
And I have to agree, he's peaceful. You know, he's, and another guy, God, he came out with, he was feeling inadequate, and he was feeling lonely. Yeah, we all knew that he was feeling inadequate. And we all knew that he was feeling lonely.
Let me check the piece of paper here. Oh, you know what it says? Right down there? All of those feelings.
If you're lonely, if you're depressed, if you're ashamed, if you're guilty, if you're bored, if you're apathetic, if you're sleepy, that all points to one thing that you're sad. That's, that's kind of what it points to. The other interesting thing that I found on this chart, and I'm not going to go over what everybody said, I'm just going to read some of this chart to you, because I find it fascinating. And I'm going to find out who created this thing.
And I'm going to make it available to you for free. I'm not going to charge you for it. Just pay shipping and handling of $39.95 normally getting, I will not do that. But what if you're feeling rejected or bewildered or confused, or you have a feeling of helplessness, or you're feeling very submissive or insecure?
What does all of those things lead to? I'll lead the same thing that I was feeling by being anxious. It's scared. Just absolutely scared.
What about if you're feeling excited? Oh, man, I love being excited. I'm grateful whenever I'm excited about something. I'm working on a new project right now, working on a new book that is not going to be available to the general public.
It's basically a trade book. But I was asked by a bunch of owners of local radio stations, if I would put together something for them. And I said, yeah, I'll put together a book, it'll be a short book. So I'm excited about that.
And what if I was feeling sexy? When was the last time? Or energetic, or playful, or creative? I'm getting those creative juices right now.
Amused, aware, delighted, just delightful, or fascinating, or daring. All those things point to one thing in the wheel. They take you down to the center of what you're thinking. And in this case, I'm joyful.
And yeah, when it comes to that. So does this thing map out your whole life? Oh, hell no. Because everything in our life is very complex.
And it comes in different, you know, in different ways. Sometimes, like right now, you know, today, I'm very anxious about my brother. I'm very, very anxious about my brother. I spent a lot of time today, because I was on the road a lot today just thinking about that.
I've been feeling anxious about that. And then I got a call from one of the radio station owners out West as I was driving. And he started talking about this project, which I've decided is going to be a book, a short book, only for owners of radio stations. Okay, I have a little expertise in that.
I was on at one time close to 300 radio stations on a syndicated thing. And I know about the subject that they're talking about. So that put me into the joyful. I went from being scared to being joyful.
Now, the gentleman who leads our group, we asked him, I said, what are you feeling today? What are you feeling? He's feeling hopeful. He's feeling hopeful because he's getting ready to do a major life shift as far as his living is concerned, as far as his businesses concerned, and what he wants to do for the future.
So he's feeling hopeful. Sometimes he feels important. And I know that he feels faithful. He's very faithful.
He's got a wonderful family. And he also feels appreciated because he helps a lot of people. And they are very appreciative of him. And he's very, very proud of some of the things that he's done.
Well, what does that take us down to in the wheel? He's very, very powerful, very powerful. That's his, that's the key to that. But as they say, he's also anxious because this is a major life shift for him that he is getting ready to make.
And that's going to be just plain. Oh, right. Weird. So this is something that happens to all of us.
There are parts of the day when we are joyful and we are grateful and we are thrilled with the way things are going. And then there are other parts of the day where we got to deal with the shit. That's all I can do. That's the best way I can do that.
I can say it. You have to deal with the shit. I don't like to do that. Not us to.
But you got to. And then what does that make me? It makes me scared. I am scared to deal with crap.
I really am. All right. I'll give you something to think about. I'm going to get this figured out to where I can duplicate it and I'll let you know how to get one.
And it's not going to cost you a dime. See you tomorrow. I will see you Monday. I'm sorry.
We'll see you Monday.
