Pastor takes aside from our study in 2 Peter for Easter. The empty tomb was not a joyous, hopeful event. They were not discussing the possiblity of a resurrection. They were discussing the absence of a corpse. It made them sad. Why are so many people today empty when they recognize that Christ was born, that He was dead, that He was buried, and that He rose again? Yet they know that information, but they are still empty, void of that peace, of that comfort, of that confidence, of that forgiveness, of that relationship because for them these are all ritualistic things that are empty of the person Jesus Christ. In many senses, their heart is as empty as that tomb, because Jesus isn't there either. They are running to an empty tomb instead of running to embrace a living Lord.
