The Enchanted Hope

The Enchanted Hope Series: This Enchanted World Bible Passages: Romans 8:18-25, Revelation 21:1-4; 21:22-22:5 This sermon was preached by Sam Atwood at St Barnabas Anglican Church Broadway on Sunday 27th September 2026. What are Christians actually hoping for when we talk about heaven and eternal life? In the final sermon of This Enchanted World, we look ahead to where the story of Scripture is ultimately going. Sam explores a hope not of escaping this world, but of homecoming, restoration and resurrection. A future that is both more physical and more wonderful than we might imagine. For now, we live in the “already and not yet”, groaning alongside creation as we wait. But Christian hope gives us something to long for: the day when all things are made new and we are finally home with our Lord.
